Director Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is an active and visible role in the Finance Department.  This position interacts regularly with finance and operations people globally to understand, consolidate and analyze the monthly, quarterly, annual and long-term financial plans. This role is based in our World HQ in Elyria, Ohio USA and reports to the VP Finance & CFO providing a large amount of visibility and interaction with all the customers within the organization, especially the CFO.

This person must possess an exceptional understanding of business operations, outstanding analytical skills, and a solid grasp of accounting and finance principles.   The candidate must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with Business Unit and Corporate financial management. This person will work in a dynamic environment within Finance and cross-functionally with Operations, Human Resources and Sourcing.
 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Lead the monthly financial planning process, including consolidating all internal plans from 10+ reporting units Critically evaluate reporting unit plans and analyze deltas versus prior month plan, prior year and  forecast. Assess reasonableness of future projections.  Critically evaluate our financial plans, alerting management to significant risks and opportunities. Assist in the preparation and analysis of various schedules for quarterly Board Meetings and annual plan reviews Provide timely analysis and executive summaries on crucial metrics (sales, cost, gross and operating profit, etc.)  Build and maintain standardized financial reporting to ensure consistent and accurate presentation of financial data across the organization Loading quarterly financial plans into HFM Analyze and understand currency impacts Product line reporting and analysis Assist in acquisition and divestiture activities    Who You Are:
 You quickly and critically take actions in fact-changing, unpredictable situations.  You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You approach difficult issues with optimism and confidence.  You carefully consider all relevant factors and use appropriate decision-making criteria and principles.  You identify and monitor key financial indicators to gauge performance, identify trends, and suggest strategies that can impact results.  You lay out a detailed schedule and list steps for achieving objectives.     For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; or equivalent experience will also be considered  Possess the ability to communicate and present critical information to all levels of the organization  Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial customers Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a group environment Strong discernment, critical thinking, and analytical/technical skills Pro-active problem solver that enjoys participating in and leading teams Demonstrates an ability to empower by leading others  Legal Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Master’s Degree/MBA &/or CPA is preferred 10+ years of growing responsibility within Accounting/Finance Proven experience in manufacturing JDE and Hyperion experience.
