Director for External Relations and Engagement, CUNY ASAP|ACE **POSITION DETAILS** The City University of New York’s (CUNY) Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) and Accelerate, Complete, Engage (ACE) are comprehensive associate and bachelor’s degree completion programs serving 25,000 students annually at fourteen CUNY colleges. CUNY ASAP|ACE, part of the Office of Academic Affairs’ Student Success Initiatives unit, provides comprehensive and personalized support and resources to students that remove barriers to full-time study, support academic momentum, and build a connected community. ASAP|ACE is among CUNY’s most successful initiatives, with students in the program graduating at a rate more than double that of similar students. ASAP has been rigorously evaluated and garnered national recognition, winning the 2020 Innovations in American Government Award from the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Under the direction of the CUNY ASAP|ACE University Executive Director, the CUNY ASAP|ACE Director for External Relations and Engagement plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and visibility of CUNY ASAP|ACE. This multifaceted role encompasses strategic leadership in external relations, alumni engagement, marketing, and outreach efforts to support program enrollment across fourteen CUNY colleges. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following: **Strategic Leadership and Resource Management** + Lead and supervise the External Relations and Engagement unit, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing its impact, including the management of a $1.05M budget to support unit initiatives effectively. + Provide direct supervision and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and development. + Manage and collaborate with external consultants, such as graphic designers and videographers, ensuring their work aligns with the program's branding and objectives, while overseeing timely delivery of high-quality deliverables. + Contribute to policy initiatives that enhance the reach and effectiveness of CUNY ASAP|ACE by collaborating closely with university units (e.g., K16, CUNY Start/Math Start, CD/SEEK, UOEM) and partner colleges to align and coordinate efforts supporting program objectives. + Monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators such as enrollment numbers, alumni engagement rates, website and social media traffic metrics; analyze data from marketing campaigns, outreach efforts, and alumni initiatives to prepare reports that assess effectiveness and inform decision-making. **Marketing, Outreach, and Technology Integration** + Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and outreach strategies to promote CUNY ASAP|ACE across various platforms and audiences. + Lead efforts to secure and integrate technologies such as text messaging platforms to support outreach and recruitment efforts. + Collaborate with teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and functionality of technologies and services. + Identify potential risks or crises related to marketing, outreach, or technology implementation and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. **Alumni Engagement and Partnership Development** + Refine and execute an operational plan for alumni engagement, encompassing events, resources, communications, and partnerships to drive meaningful outcomes. + Maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with University Advancement, the Office of Career and Industry Partnerships, and external organizations to provide opportunities for program alumni. + Collaborate with the CUNY ASAP|ACE research and evaluation team to assess the effectiveness of alumni engagement initiatives and provide data-driven insights for continuous improvement. + Collaborate with other units to ensure professional development opportunities are available for staff members, stakeholders, and alumni involved in CUNY ASAP|ACE initiatives. **NOTES** Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Minimum** Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. **Preferred** + Master’s degree in a related field. + At least eight years of experience in marketing, communications, alumni engagement, and/or academic program support. + Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies, as well as the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. + Strong understanding of digital communications, including proficiency in social media management, content creation for online platforms, familiarity with analytic tools, and experience developing and executing digital marketing campaigns. + Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather critical information and foster effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. + Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content for different stakeholders and audiences. + Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading, coaching, and developing teams. + Excellent listening, planning, problem-solving, and public speaking skills. + Highly organized project manager with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and work independently. + A proven ability to respond to unexpected, fast-paced, and time-sensitive requests. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Directs selected University-wide academic programs and operations under executive oversight. - Develops and implements program proposals and strategic plans - Administers all curricular, administrative, and fiscal aspects of programs and oversees support efforts - Cultivates and maintains strategic partnerships with external parties and collaborates with faculty, administrators and staff across the University to achieve program goals - Monitors program activities; evaluates and reports on effectiveness and outcomes - May manage program-related and support staff - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Officer **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** The salary range is **$104,057 - $129,310** , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.
