Job Overview:
The Director of Plant Operations reports to the Assistant Vice President of Facility Operations. You will assist in the maintenance and property management of offsite locations, manage departmental operating budget including utilities expenses for hospital and subsidiary entities, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Required:
Bachelors' of Science degree in engineering or related field of study requireAt least five years of supervisory experience in an equivalent position in an acute care hospitalMust have experience with HVAC systems, emergency generator and electrical systems, plumbing, and constructionKnowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency with Computer Assisted Drafting CAD software is requiredPreferred:
Masters Science Degree in engineering and /or New Jersey Professional Engineer License preferredScheduling Requirements:
Full-TimeEssential Functions:
Manage the departmental budgetDevelops and administers programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines for an acute care facility
Directs the repair, reconstruction and construction of the Medical Center's physical plant, equipment and its contents
Works with consultants and staff to develop, design and execute both new construction and existing renovation projects for MMCSC
Responsible for physical plant aspects of JCAHO inspectionsEnsure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulationsDirects and evaluates contractual arrangements concerning maintenance, landscaping and construction for MMCSC, Shows
Sound judgment in negotiating contractual arrangements concerning maintenance, landscaping, and constructionServes on a variety of committees, recommending approval of institutional policies and proceduresDirects the management of maintenance construction and repair of the buildings and grounds for MMCSCConsults and advises administration and the Board of Directors for plans and programs for the institutions facilities and progress of major construction and renovation projects for MMCSC
Directs Plant Operations management and consulting services for corporate and contracted ventures
Scheduled preventative maintenance is adhered to as set forth by hospital and department policies for MMCSCResponsible for interview and selection of qualified employees in a timely mannerMonitors employee retention and reasons for turnover, conducts department specific employee recognition programs, department meetings, etc, in an effort to increase retention
