Director Group & Leisure Sales

**Position Summary**
**Reporting to the VP of Rental Sales & Marketing, the Director of Group & Leisure Sales is responsible for leading a sales team dedicated to generating rental revenue for The Marriott Vacation Clubs (TMVC), which includes Marriott Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, and Marriott Grand Residence Club. This leadership role focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships to maximize rental sales. The Director oversees the rental sales department, setting strategic direction for various rental sales channels such as Group, Wholesale, Leisure, Business Transient, and Airline. They collaborate closely with IRM leaders and MVW cross-functional teams to maximize rental sales opportunities, revenue, and service delivery. Additionally, the Director works in partnership with Marriott International (MI) stakeholders to ensure alignment of TMVC brand and product sales initiatives and policies. This role is crucial in contributing to the overall success of Marriott Vacations Worldwide, advancing the company’s objectives, and enhancing its market position.**
**Expected Contributions**
+ Understand revenue management concepts including how owner and preview inventory influence rental inventory.
+ Identify market needs and trends with IRM Field leaders and Rental Marketing to collaborate on the best potential solutions, opportunities, and priorities.
+ Develop a working knowledge of the various types of group sales, airline crew, and wholesale contracts.
+ Partner with IRM regional leaders to determine the best utilization of inventory across all rental sales segments.
+ Establish and nurture relationships with key MI stakeholders to educate them on the TMVC brand and product, and discuss potential leisure opportunities.
+ Stay informed about MI’s Group and Leisure sales initiatives, systems, policies, and operational updates.
+ Partner with the MVW Brand team to ensure brand standards are maintained on various rental sales collateral and websites.
+ Contribute to the Rental Marketing and Sales annual budget and assist in tracking and recording sales expenses.
+ Communicate with corporate and on-site Resort Operations leaders to ensure operational excellence.
+ Partner with the MVW Law department to ensure contractual compliance and accuracy.
+ Connect with new and existing key decision-makers at strategic industry tradeshows.
+ Stay updated on travel industry and competitor group and leisure trends.
+ Keep the team focused and motivated on departmental goals and objectives.
+ Share business results and recognize individual and team performance.
+ Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement through knowledge and best practice sharing.
+ Build a dynamic team by hiring talented associates and providing comprehensive and continuous training.
+ Establish performance goals and individualized development plans, and conduct regular discussions and reviews.
+ Prioritize leadership development for managers, emphasizing business acumen, sales processes, customer relationship management skills, and critical thinking abilities.
+ Educate the team on company policies and expectations, professionalism, and customer engagement skills.
+ Prioritize the sales team’s delivery of customer excellence across all sales channels.
+ Ensure the sales team collaborates with Accounting and Resort Operations on service delivery.
+ Ensure the execution and communication of wholesale and group sales initiatives.
+ Oversee the reporting and presentation of departmental results.
+ Monitor production and trends to provide strategies and recommendations for improving efficiencies and revenue.
+ Evaluate and implement new business opportunities.
+ Review performance and discuss opportunities with wholesale, airline, and travel industry partners.
+ Share regional and enterprise Revenue Management direction with the group and wholesale teams.
+ Analyze and determine the applicability of MI’s policies, procedures, systems, and sales initiatives to TMVC.
+ Oversee the communication of results, achievements, and challenges to IRM leaders.
**Candidate Profile**
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
**Experience**
+ Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years professional sales, revenue management, or a related field.
+ Experience in the timeshare and lodging industry is beneficial.
+ Previous experience leading teams of managers is preferred.
