This role is open to being 100% remote within Canada while ecobee’s office is located in Toronto, Ontario. You may be required to travel to Toronto or the Generac head office in Milwaukee once per quarter for team and/or company events.

Generac is looking for a strong HR professional to lead a team of HR Business Partners and work with ecobees passionate employees & leadership who are integral to the work we do in improving energy efficiency across North America!
This role will cover an 18-month parental leave coverage and begin reporting to the VP Human Resources Energy Technology at Generac. As our business and HR function continues to evolve, there remains potential for this role to convert to full-time, based on future growth and opportunities.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Our Director, Human Resources will be the wearer of many hats with no two days alike. You will have the opportunity to work on all things business partnering; organizational design, employment law, performance management, engagement, compensation, employee relations and partnering with the leadership team to support them in their challenges and successes.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
7+ years of progressive HR experience, with 4+ years leading teams.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.Expertise in HR functions: Performance Management, Succession Planning, Employee Relations, Compensation, Org Design, Change Management, etc.Strong strategic thinking, able to set and execute HR strategies.Proven ability to prioritize, manage workload, and coach across all levels.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.Experience working in and leading HRBP teams, fostering high trust and engagement.Skilled in conflict resolution, building strong relationships with senior leaders.Deep knowledge of Canadian HR laws, with familiarity in US and UK regulations.Proficient with HR systems (e.g., Workday), including implementation experience.Just so you know: The hired candidate will be required to complete a background checkWhat happens after you apply:

Interview Process:
A 30-minute phone call with a member of Talent Acquisition A 1-hour virtual interview with ecobees current Director, HR & Senior Dir HR on the Generac side. Expect technical, behavioural, and situational questions Final stages! This will be a 2-hour interview divided into two parts where you will meet folks from the HRBP team as well as leadership. You will be provided with the questions ahead of time as they require some preparation.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
