KLAS 8 News Now the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas is actively recruiting for a Broadcast Director.  This shift will be consistent with our AM team but will also require the flexibility to be on call as needed by the News Department.  The Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

Direct and/or technically direct newscastsCoordinates technical control and production of programs Ensures quality standards are metWorks with the news Producers to deliver a clean visually impactful news castMay also perform the following duties:Audio operations for daily newscastsLive operations (tunes satellites, microwaves, and other live feeds from field)Editing with Adobe Premiere editing softwareTeleprompting for daily newscasts

​Requirements & Skills:

High school diplomaFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenMinimum two years’ experience in News operations and Production (market size considered)Proficiency with computers and broadcast control equipmentAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and be able to multi-taskIgnite automation experience preferred

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Broadcast Director must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  In addition, the Broadcast Director must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds over their head.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
