The Director of Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing SHI's Integrated Data Center Solutions (IDCS) technology strategy. This leader will integrate technical vision with market opportunities, aligning cutting-edge solutions to meet customer needs. The role requires a blend of strategic foresight and technical depth to lead high-performing engineering teams in the development, deployment, and support of complex IT solutions. The Director will be instrumental in fostering innovation, driving customer-centric service delivery, and ensuring the internal adoption of key technologies to maintain SHI’s competitive advantage in the evolving system integrator landscape.
This position will report to the SHI Ridge Piscataway, NJ office location.

Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that supports SHI’s technical strategy, including AI adoption and implementation.Lead and mentor engineering teams in areas such as data center infrastructure, integration, configuration services and AI.Oversee the installation, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of data center hardware and software, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.Drive a customer-centric approach in service delivery, from onboarding to ongoing technical account management.Foster relationships with senior executives within key accounts to align technology solutions with strategic business objectives.Serve as a subject matter expert, articulating SHI’s technical vision at industry events and in conversations with customers and partners.Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring team performance aligns with organizational goals.Spearhead the hiring and development of top-tier engineering talent, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Engage in strategic business discussions, contributing insights that shape company policies and direction.Collaborate with internal Solutions, Project Management, Build and Quality Control teams to determine integration requirements, expectations, and timelines.Direct team members on how to troubleshoot and improve the design of automation, information, and operational support systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a preference for advanced degrees or certifications.Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong foundation in technology infrastructure and cloud solutions.Minimum 10 years of experience in management with responsibility for technical strategy and customer-facing activities.Proven track record in managing high-performing technical teams and delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.Thorough understanding of configuration and integration services, including pre-integrated rack infrastructure.Extensive experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., xCAT, Ansible, Cobbler, Chef) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, shell scripts).Experience working with modern data center technologies and concepts. Required Skills Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with a focus on business impact and technology innovation.Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders, from C-level executives to technical staff.Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges.Advanced networking skills, including OSI network layers, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing.Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail to produce on-time quality results.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas succinctly.Management/Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent. Unique Requirements Extended hours are required to complete some special projects Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $280,000 which includes a base salary and a bonus.
