I. Job Summary
Leads multiple teams in planning, coordinating, developing and implementing information technology/systems to support a broad spectrum of business needs for a Waste Management business unit/s or major IT sub-function.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Develops overall strategy and directs execution of departmental activities.
Prepares and maintains long-range plans in support of technology needs of the business unit/s or functions served.
Consults, counsels and reviews hardware and software needs to ensure systematic, uniform development of information system activities.
Builds, maintains, and directs functional teams to develop and implement high value business solutions.
Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the department. Develops departmental budget and manages resources.
Serves as a liaison with core information systems.
Provides and/or monitors administration of training and team-building to less experienced staff.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management through one or more managerial levels. This includes:

Direct supervision of full-time employees including senior management and individual contributor positions;
Indirect supervision of full-time employees including management and individual contributor positions. 

IV. Qualifications

B. Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor�s Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Finance or similar area of study or, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
Experience: Ten (10) years of prior work experience (in addition to education requirement) within Information Technology including at least three years managing a team of two of more individuals.

C. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

None required.

D. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Experience in the most current technologies and products used in the industry. May require in depth skills in one or more of the following: technical software development and deployment, employee management, program and project management, budget development and monitoring, organizational change and development.
