Job Description

Position Overview:
The Director of Infrastructure & Cloud will lead the strategy, development, and management of our organization's IT infrastructure and cloud solutions. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of infrastructure systems, both on-premise and cloud-based. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure management, and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
•    Strategic Leadership:
o    Develop and execute the infrastructure strategy in alignment with organizational goals, focusing on both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
o    Lead the transition to cloud-based platforms, optimizing for cost, performance, and scalability.
o    Oversee the long-term planning of infrastructure, including disaster recovery, system architecture, and network infrastructure.
•    Team Management:
o    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure and cloud professionals.
o    Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
o    Provide regular performance feedback and professional development opportunities.
•    Cloud Solutions and Management:
o    Oversee the implementation, management, and optimization of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
o    Collaborate with engineering, development, and operations teams to design and deploy scalable cloud solutions.
o    Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining system performance.
•    Infrastructure Operations:
o    Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of on-premises IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking).
o    Implement best practices for data protection, security, and compliance in both on-premise and cloud environments.
o    Lead the management and maintenance of data centers, hardware, and software systems.
•    Vendor and Budget Management:
o    Manage relationships with cloud service providers and other vendors.
o    Negotiate contracts, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
o    Develop and manage the infrastructure and cloud operations budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
•    Risk Management & Compliance:
o    Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to infrastructure and cloud operations.
o    Develop disaster recovery plans, including backup strategies and failover mechanisms.
•    Innovation and Technology Evolution:
o    Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in infrastructure and cloud computing.
o    Implement innovative solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and user experience.
 

Qualifications

•    Education: 
o    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
•    Experience: 
o    10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
o    Proven experience in managing cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and transitioning traditional infrastructure to the cloud.
o    Strong background in IT operations, including networking, data centers, virtualization, and security.
o    Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects and teams.
 

Additional Information

•    Skills: 
o    Expertise in cloud technologies and cloud architecture.
o    Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o    Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
o    Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
o    Ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and optimize cloud usage.
•    Certifications (Preferred): 
o    Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
o    ITIL, PMP, or similar certifications in infrastructure management.
