Director Instrumentation and Process Control
Clean Harbors is looking for a **Director of Instrumentation and Process Control** to join their team! The Director will be responsible for overseeing a team of highly skilled personnel including Operational Technologists and Control System Engineers in the design, commissioning, operations and reliability of control systems throughout North America. **Position will be onsite at our Deer Park, TX facility.** **Clean Harbors** (NYSE: CLH) is North America’s leading provider of environmental and industrial services. Clean Harbors offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including: + Competitive annual salary + Opportunities for growth, development and internal promotion + Health, Dental and Life Insurance + 401k, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off + Company paid certifications, licenses and training + Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. + Group lead providing administration, team leadership and strategic development. + Work with Cybersecurity and Information Technology teams to improve security in and around Operational Technology following the ISA 62443, NIST 800-82 and company standards. + Develop multi-year strategies to standardize control systems and instrumentation across 20+ sites. + Provide remote support for up to 20+ sites. + Establish and manage goals, reporting needs, key performance indicators and dashboards for control system and health. + Drive continuous improvement in the control system infrastructure including project activity to renew and evolve the DCS platforms. + Oversee reliability and maintenance of DCS/SIS hardware and software. + Develop company standards for Control Systems, Instrumentation and process control networks. + Proactively manage controls production environment and take preventative actions to avoid business impacting incidents. + Coaching operations and other technical personnel on the concepts and use of control strategies. + Process control algorithm development, prototyping and implementation employing the latest technologies such as APC and AI. + Lead the prompt resolution of control system performance issues through the application of strong critical thinking skills. + Work with automation vendors to specify, design and commission new and upgraded control and SIS systems. + Develop a business level solution for process historians to eliminate data silos and organize data flows. + Develop systems to maintain backups of critical systems. + Capital project support for Instrument, Electrical and Control needs. + Other duties as assigned. + Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering required. + 15+ years of experience in control system, instrumentation, analyzer, MCC equipment installation, maintenance and operation required. + 5+ years in direct supervisory experience. Demonstrate success in building and leading teams. + Primary Skill Sets-Extensive knowledge in DeltaV and Rockwell. Leadership in planning, motivating and strategic thinking.Effective communication skills with customers, team members and company leadership. Problem solving. + Knowledge of industry standards(ISA, IEEE, NFPA, IEC). + Strong knowledge of OHSA PSM and SIS design and standards. + Preferred Skills- Canary and PI Historians, ABB 800xA and S+ DCS.
