Director - Landscape
**Job Purpose** The job holder will be responsible to lead and manage the landscape development process of projects to ensure that that the company vision and objectives such as launch schedule, design quality and budget are achieved.. **Key Accountabilities** + Lead all aspects of the landscape development process, including master planning, design, procurement, consultant appointment, and design execution while considering factors such as feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and potential risks to ensure that all technical procedures meet approved company operational objectives. + Review landscape design submissions for technical and commercial compliance during the design stage, and lead value engineering exercises to achieve target budgets to ensure that all design submissions comply with technical and commercial requirements. + Prioritize horticultural tasks and co-ordinate the implementation of work assignments with the consultants for successful project execution as per project requirements. + Collaborate with architects, contractors, and designers to develop outdoor spaces that align with the property's overall vision and aesthetic. This may include selecting plant species, choosing materials, and creating water features. + Develop and manage budgets for landscape projects, including the procurement of necessary equipment, tools, and materials in alignment with project requirements and quality standards for optimum resource utilization + Review the preparation of project-specific development and design briefs that reflect project landscape intent and objectives. + Identify and document risk items for each business case, including individual property levels, analyzing and ranking overall risk exposure (i.e., technical, financial, and landscape vision), and actively lead risk mitigation measures to ensure that business cases are secured to meet the design intent targets. + Manage landscape consultants to ensure the proper, efficient and timely completion of required responsibilities. + Provide regular feedback on project status, risks, and approved feasibility to ensure that project goals are being met. + Co-ordinate with involved stakeholder(s) at all levels, including liaising with stakeholder partners and key business affiliates to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment throughout the horticultural project. + Prepare management reports to facilitate informed decision-making. + Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in market dynamics, and competitive landscape relevant to the organization. **Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge** + Min. 10 -12 years’ experience in design / project management, of which 6 years’ at senior capacity within the landscape industry managing large-scale landscape projects. + Experience in project management, budgeting, and procurement – desirable + **Minimum Experience (number of years):** + Min. 10 -12 years’ experience in design / project management, of which 6 years’ at senior capacity within the landscape industry managing large-scale landscape projects. + Experience in project management, budgeting, and procurement - desirable **Job Specific Skills:** + Well versed in Ms. Office suite and AutoCAD software + Project management skills including planning, scheduling, and risk management. + Financial acumen with the ability to manage project budgets, cash flow, and financial statements. + Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and implement business plans and strategies. + Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams of diverse professionals. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholder expectations. + Effective decision-making, and problem-solving skills + Attention to detail with the ability to review and analyze technical and financial documents. + Negotiation skills with the ability to manage contracts and agreements. + Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
