Camping World & Good Sam is seeking a innovate, high-performing Director, Learning, Leadership and Organization Development to join our Talent team. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and updating our learning, leadership and organization development strategy and roadmap to influence successful business outcomes while enhancing employee engagement, performance, career growth and retention. You will build strong relationships with business leaders across the organization to ensure that the solutions we put in place meet the needs of the business, drive results, and are aligned with our business strategy. This individual will report to the Vice President, Talent and will be onsite or hybrid (three days a week) at either of our corporate offices in Chicago, IL or Lincolnshire, IL.
Responsibilities of Director, Learning, Leadership & Organization Development include:
Learning, Leadership & Organization Development Strategy: This role will be responsible for the overall direction which includes developing a strategic plan, designing, implementing, and delivering learning, leadership and organization development programs while measuring their effectiveness. This role will help deliver solutions including but not limited to career roadmaps, curriculum journeys (onboarding, ongoing, readiness for promotion), compliance training, leadership development. You will build strong relationships and knowledge with business leaders across the organization, to ensure that the programs that are created address business issues, drive results, and enhance our employee and leader experience. You will be pragmatic in your approach, delivering solutions that meet the business needs for today, while also building for the future.
Lead a High Performing Team: Build and lead a team of learning, leadership, and organization development leaders who are business focused and work with a sense of urgency to solve business issues in a collaborative manner at the pace of the business. Focus on building a team environment that role models building trusted and collaborative relationships across the HR function and with the business. Lead the team through coaching, mentorship, motivation, communication, performance management, etc. to drive high-performance. Seek opportunities to grow team member capabilities and professional/career development. Ensure continuity of resources through cross-skilling team and providing individual support when needed.
Data & Insights: Build and execute the strategy for how we will evaluate and demonstrate the effectiveness and return on investment for our learning, leadership, and organization development programs.
Organizational Development: Develop the strategy and determine the tools that Camping World and Good Sam will use for assessments for developmental purposes, leadership coaching, team effectiveness, career roadmaps, and interventions.
Change Management and Leadership: Develop the framework and tools that we will use across the organization to ensure effective change management, change leadership and communication for large scale changes within the organization. Ensure that the organization is trained on this approach. Ensure the adoption of organizational changes and strategic initiatives by applying this structured change management process. Evaluate the effectiveness of the approach and make modifications as needed.
Leadership Development: Design and implement the strategy, principles, programs and processes for leadership development at Camping World and Good Sam. Ensure that our programs are comprehensive and focus on all levels of leadership.
Budget: Prepare and review our annual budget. Track invoices to ensure payment on time.
Required experience and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology, Learning, Instructional Design, Organization Development, Human Resources or related field preferred. Master’s degree is highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of learning, leadership and organization development or human resources experience with at least seven years in a people management role.
Demonstrated experience developing high-impact learning experiences with a true appreciation for audience needs.
Experience with change management and building change frameworks. Certification in change management is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a Learning, Leadership & Organizational Development strategy.
Experience in high-growth organizations preferred
Proven ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships in a fast, ever-changing work environment
Drives for results in a proactive, collaborative, accountable, and analytical manner
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment
Ability to work well under pressure and flexible in adapting and responding to rapidly changing situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and keen attention to detail
High level of business acumen, a consultative approach, ability to constructively challenge and influence change at all levels, and experience interacting with Sr. Leadership.
Strong decision-making skills include acting decisively and operating independently to complex issues and business requirements with a high degree of exposure.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time
Consistently operates a computer and other office machinery
Willing to spend 25% of the year traveling for business, possibly with short notice

The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.
Pay Range:
