Director Marine Operations
**Job Overview:** The Director Marine Operations role requires comprehensive experience with marine operations and vessel management, as well as general management, strategy and business expertise. The Director Marine Operations leads by working with senior functional leaders and sets strategy and goals and implements initiatives which lead to achieving company-wide objectives. They direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that have implications beyond their function. The Director Marine Operations applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance, influence internal stakeholders and positively impact customer relationships. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Provide governance of processes and procedures, setting the common elements of McDermott marine performance, so all customers receive a common experience + Set annual standards and KPIs for marine performance and pursuit of sustainability goals, including coordinated reporting on marine performance and metrics + Review budgets and performance expectations, making recommendations to the VP, Global Assets on acceptable standards + Review marine results, estimates, and execution plans to ensure consistency and optimal strategies are implemented + Organize and facilitate communication with and between Business Lines to promote effective collaboration and ensure the implementation of best practices and lessons learned + Identify and implement business process and organizational improvements, and the evaluation and alignment of systems and tools + Manage the development of an integrated schedule of company vessels, and identification of synergies, clashes and collaboration opportunities + Oversight and coordination of global marine capacity, workload, project allocation, and assessment of prospect prioritization. Identify potential schedule clashes and make recommendations on resolution in line with optimal use of resources for the company + Establishing plans for the short-term and long-term development of the vessel fleet, including the review and recommendation of overall company marine strategy based on Business Line requirements, and also including reviews of capex, upgrades and operational improvements + Provide leadership, support, commitment, and guidance for HSE&S, Quality, and Compliance issues + Oversight of marine personnel talent management, development, mentoring and placement + Coordination with Supply Chain Management on optimizing procurement of key supplies to support the fleet **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field + Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in marine operations, vessel operations, or project management for marine construction, with a strong understanding of marine vessels, equipment, and processes + Proven track record of successful leadership, managing large-scale marine fleets and delivering projects on time and within budget + General knowledge of marine regulations, class society requirements, and international maritime standards + Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make effective decisions in high-pressure situations + Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels + Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team of professionals + Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational objectives + Pragmatic and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence \#LI-DA1 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
