Director Nursing Regional

Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:
 Advanced and/or thorough knowledge of psychiatric, drug and alcohol disorders and general nursing care
concepts.
 Support and promote an environment and culture of professional nursing behaviors at all times across the
organization
 Assist with monitoring and evaluating all nursing activities including staff development, risk and safety
management, financial management, compliance with regulatory standards, policy and procedure
development/implementation and performance improvement activities.
 Develop and maintain staff nurse and nurse manager training and education materials on an ongoing
basis.
 Ensure nursing practices utilize evidence based practice, regulations and performance improvement to
guide clinical decision making related to existing and future program implementation.
 Conduct and/or contribute to staff evaluations in a timely manner.
 Seek input from Human Resource Director in addressing employee performance issues.
 Adhere to Human Resource policies and procedures.
 On call 24/7 and accessible to nursing staff as necessary.
 Comply with all confidentiality and client rights, standards and policies.
 Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by effectively utilizing resources in a cost-efficient manner.
 Collaborate with facility and program leaders on a monthly basis to review pertinent costs and identify
opportunities for improvement.
 Maintain an open line of communication with all facility and program leaders regarding outcomes, issues
and opportunities for improvement.
 Develop positive relationships with internal and external customers while contributing to the success of the
organization.
 Able to effectively direct and manage the delivery of quality nursing care services while effectively
integrating concepts of nursing care into the clients’ interdisciplinary treatment program.
 Knowledgeable in the treatment of Drug and Alcohol and Co-occurring Disorders
 Knowledge of HIPAA laws CPR/First Aid and AED other trainings as required.
Technical Competencies: Strong leadership ability, team builder, ability to drive continuous performance
improvement projects, confidentiality, multitasker, decisive, excellent problem-solving/trouble shooting skills,
teacher educator, cooperative within the team framework.


Education, Experience:
Supervisory experience strongly preferred. Knowledgeable in the treatment of Drug and Alcohol and Cooccurring Disorders. Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. Ability to analyze and interpret data to
determine priorities and make recommendations Awareness and understanding of regulating bodies (CARF and
COMAR) Current RN license in state of practice, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Previous Drug and Alcohol experience, including Methadone and Medication Assisted Treatment (Suboxone and
Vivitrol) preferred.
