The College seeks staff and faculty members who thrive in multicultural academic environments and are committed to access and excellence in higher education. **POSITION OVERVIEW** **POSITION OVERVIEW** Reporting to the Associate Provost for Strategy and Operations, the Director of Academic Operations and Resources will promote and support administrative excellence across the division. The Director will serve as a partner and resource for department chairs, directors and staffand will be able to represent divisional needs, challenges, and opportunities effectively at the college level. The Director will be a problem solver who proactively shares knowledge, best practices and expertise in managing complex operations. The Director will work closely with the Associate Provost to lead the work of creating streamlined systems and developing policies and practices that ensure Academic Affairs effectively invests financial resources with different spending constraints. The successful candidate will supervise the daily work of the staff that support the core functions of part time staff onboarding, adjunct operations, budget planning, fiscal reporting, full time faculty workload and non-tax levy funds management and ensure efficient operations and record-keeping. The Director partner with colleagues in Academic Affairs, Finance and Human Resources to interpret complex policies and procedures and apply them to both routine and unique situations to effectively coordinate activities, meet administrative and operational needs, and ensure cost-effectiveness. The selected candidate will work within deadlines and specific time frames to: + ensure all faculty and staff understand and comply with the John Jay and CUNY regulations and policies related to the various college funding sources and resources. + provide strategic analysis and input as required to identify and recommend solutions to operational issues; + ensure that the division uses resources in a manner consistent with policies and approved financial plans; + ensure that the division uses private donor and grant resources in a manner consistent with proposals, restrictions and reporting deadlines; + supervise administrative staff and liaise with college partners to develop and provide the division with comprehensive financial and personnel information in a timely manner and useful format; + develop and maintain a calendar of key operational dates and deadlines for academic management and staff; + estimate the fiscal impact of decisions to intended to resolve academic and/or administrative issues; + review ongoing resource requests and formulate appropriate recommendations; + serve as the point of contact for all divisional property information and inquiries; and + successfully perform other related duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required. ****Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degree in accounting, business management, public management, higher education administration or related field; + Eight years of high-level administration and supervisory experience in operations or organizational development ina higher education setting; + Fluency with public university procedures, and documented ability to think creatively and strategically to anticipate trends and challenges; + Strong organizational and management skills and ability to develop objectives, set priorities, adapt to changing priorities, manage competing demands and meet deadlines; + Demonstrated ability to organize facts and figures in a clear, concise and logical manner and use data for decision-making and prepare, manage and analyze large-scale budgets; + Flexible and collaborative work style with strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills to forge successful relationships and partnerships with diverse campus community constituents; + Friendly, positive and adaptable attitude, with a high degree of professionalism, discretion and professional integrity to manage sensitive work and exercise sound judgementand resolve problems with diplomacy; + Commitment to public service, service excellence, inclusion, equity with ability to thrive in a demanding, multi-faceted and time- sensitive environment; and + Computer proficiency using administrative and financial systems, databases and programs including Microsoft Office, CUNYfirst, CUNYBuy and virtual meeting/ conferencing and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.). **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Leads initiatives to develop and implement improvements to management and administrative practices and systems. - Serves as a consultant to management in investigating current situations and in identifying the scope of the problem and potential solutions - Conducts studies and reviews to design organizational or systems improvements, developing appropriate measurements and goals - Serves as a change management leader in implementing major organizational or systems improvements; develops and executes implementation plans, reporting results and issues to management - Develops and implements training, communications, ongoing task forces and teams, and other support to maintain and build on results - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Officer **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** ****$115,333- $129,310** **.** Salary commensurate with education and experience.
