The Office of Admissions within Enrollment Management supports prospective students and applicants by providing admission services, advisement, and application processing for undergraduate and graduate programs. The office ensures compliance with CUNY and SPS policies, offers proactive updates on application status, leads, and engages in a wide variety of recruitment initiatives while responding to all admissions inquiries. The office coordinates with administrative and academic units, and compiles data for reporting. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Enrollment and Chief Enrollment Officer, the Director of Admissions leads these efforts, while also supporting the Chief Enrollment Officer (CEMO) in executing enrollment strategies and objectives. The Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction and daily operations of the Office of Admissions within Enrollment Management. The role ensures efficient and effective admissions processes, supports institutional enrollment goals, and fosters a student-centered approach. In addition to the CUNY TItle Overview, key responsibilities include: o Develops and implements admissions policies and procedures in alignment with CUNY and SPS standards. o Ensures compliance with accreditation requirements while advancing the school's mission of diversity, equity, and access. o Oversees all aspects of undergraduate and graduate application processing, including screening, evaluation, and accurate documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance. o Provides proactive, student-centered communication to applicants regarding admission policies, application status, and next steps. o Leads and supervises a team of full-time and part-time staff, promoting operational efficiency and professional development. o Develops and executes strategic recruitment and outreach plans, identifying opportunities to increase applicant engagement and enrollment. o Represents the School at admissions and recruitment events, university-wide initiatives, and external partnership activities to strengthen visibility and collaboration. o Leverages data analytics to monitor enrollment trends, track performance metrics, and inform strategic recruitment and admissions strategies; prepares reports on application volume, recruitment activities, and outcomes to support data-driven decision-making and drive new student enrollment growth. o Collaborates with academic and administrative departments—including faculty, Bursar, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Affairs—to align recruitment and admissions efforts with institutional priorities and enrollment goals. o Supports prospective and newly admitted students through orientation, engagement programs, and yield strategies that foster preparedness, enrollment, and long-term success. NOTE: o Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence. o Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required. **Preferred Qualifications:** o Master’s degree in a related field. o At least 8 years of admissions experience in a higher education setting, including at least 5 years in graduate admissions. o Extensive knowledge of CUNY admissions policies, processes, systems, and academic documents. o Experience recruiting for online and newly established degree programs, with a demonstrated ability to meet enrollment targets. o Strong understanding of financial aid processes and their impact on enrollment. o Proven leadership skills to direct a multi-faceted and growing admissions team. o Experience implementing and utilizing admissions technologies, including CRM systems such as Technolutions Slate, to increase process efficiencies. o Ability to analyze data and trends to improve recruitment and admissions strategies. o Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic recruitment initiatives, including digital marketing, communication plans, print materials, virtual sessions, and off-campus events. o Strong collaboration skills with academic departments and enrollment service units to ensure a seamless transition for incoming students. o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. o Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Develops, implements, and manages one or more major admissions and recruiting functions. - Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes - Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting - Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds - Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration - Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions - Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process - Performs related duties as assigned. Job Title Name: Admissions Director **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Officer **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, from $96,602 - $107,789. **CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases.
