Overview
The Director of Advancement Services is responsible for supporting the fundraising efforts of the Touro University system and its related entities by managing and maintaining the Raiser’s Edge NXT database and related fundraising systems to support Institutional Advancement operations. This role ensures data integrity, accuracy, and compliance while providing critical reports, analytics, and gift processing oversight. The Director plays a key role in gift entry, receipting, financial reconciliation, and donor record management, ensuring the fundraising team has the data and tools needed to engage donors effectively.Additionally, the Director works closely with finance, donor relations, and fundraising staff to ensure efficient gift tracking, reporting, and reconciliation across multiple schools and fundraising initiatives. This role also includes interacting with donors regarding gift-related inquiries, processing payments, clarifying gift designations, and maintaining donor records to support seamless fundraising operations.
Responsibilities
+ Comprehensive Management of the Donor Database:
+ Managing the operation, maintenance, data input, data integrity and accuracy of Raiser's Edge, Touro’s database management system.
+ Supervising the processing and acknowledging of gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching gifts memorial gifts, in honor gifts, and other contributions to the University.
+ Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of gifts, including regular updates to donor records, addresses, and gift allocations in the database to maintain data integrity and support fundraising efforts.
+ Analytics and Reporting:
+ Creating/managing all reports pertaining to Institutional Advancement (i.e., gift reports, pipeline reports, weekly and quarterly fundraising reports, performance metrics tracking, prospect management reports, annual fund performance, and other reports at the request of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement or Senior Management)
+ Generating and maintaining fundraising data to support the advancement team, ensuring that event data from fundraising platforms is exported and entered into Raiser’s Edge NXT. This enables fundraisers to analyze the effectiveness of mailings, marketing campaigns, events, dinners, and programs for strategic decision-making.
+ Generate, review, and distribute receipts and acknowledgment letters biweekly.
+ Ensure accurate tracking of pledged and received funds in Blackbaud/Instrumentl.
+ Prospect Research and prospect management and stewardship process:
+ Conducting prospect research and management, generating data-driven prospect lists to support frontline fundraisers in identifying and engaging potential major gift donors.
+ Managing gift processing and acceptance policies, gift acknowledgements, statements of account, pledge reminders, etc.
+ Strategizing with Touro’s Budget/Finance teams for ways to streamline reconciliation and fund creation processes.
+ First point of contact for all requests/inquiries via phone, email, etc.
+ Available to take on miscellaneous tasks as a part of the Institutional Advancement team as requested.
+ Prepare invoices and pledge follow-ups post-events.
+ Ensure proper fund allocation and reconciliation with finance.
+ Track and process Donor-Advised Funds (DAF) and matching gifts, including maintaining compliance records.
+ Prepare and manage postings to web campaign pages
+ Work on various other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree in business or public administration is preferred.
+ 5-7 years’ experience in an advancement/development setting required.
+ Experience in higher education and/or philanthropic organization experience highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
+ Expertise in Raiser’s Edge a must.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to cultivate strong relationships.
+ Demonstrated success in fundraising.
Maximum Salary
USD $87,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $69,600.00/Yr.
