Workplace: Hybrid ( #LI-Hybrid ), Remote ( #LI-Remote ) - depending on candidate location

Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. About the role... The Director of Agency Development Operation manages a centralized department responsible for agency development strategy and execution including programs, incentives, initiatives, planning, reporting, and analytics. Responsible for achieving agency development objectives including recruiting, footprint, and production targets. Responsible for territory, field leader, and business unit support related to agency development. Manages department budget, resources, and return on investment. Leads and participates in larger scale and transformational projects and initiatives, including those related to recruiting, agency development, and distribution. What you'll accomplish... Responsible for establishing and executing on the strategic vision for agency development within the exclusive agency channel, including the distribution footprint, new agency programs, succession planning, and promotions. Monitors department budget and performance while improving return on investment. Research industry trends for competitive intelligence related to agency development. Responsible for recruiting incentives and promotions. Proactively identifies gaps, opportunities, solutions, and any other tactics necessary to achieve agency development objectives. Collaborates closely with executive leadership and business partners on agency development and related functions. Ensures field support team is responding to requests and working to resolve issues in a professional and timely matter. Manages legal and independent contractor classification risk and maintains expected compliance relating to legal regulations within company strategy as related to agency development programs and functions. Communicates strategic objectives, program or process changes, and other information as appropriate. Oversees the reporting, analytics, and planning functions within agency development. Responsible for agency development plans and forecasts. Holds team, territory offices, and business partners accountable for results. Leverages data and experience in making decisions and proactively recommending and implementing effective solutions. Provides updates on trends, results, tactics, and other aspects of the department as appropriate via presentations, spreadsheets, written communication, and other means, including for senior leadership. Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and performance managing employees. Assesses talent and manages performance expectations. Promotes and facilitates employee development. Develops a winning culture through communication, employee development, team building, and other means. Sets clear goals and priorities for the team. Holds self and team accountable for results. Recommends and implements organizational changes as appropriate. Assists employees with understanding the programs and benefits available to them, and how their work relates to the larger strategy. Develops and leverages employee compensation programs and incentives to drive results. Performs other job duties as assigned. Physical actions... This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift. Education Requirements Bachelors degree required, preferably in business or related field.Experience needed... Seven years of job-related management experience required with extensive knowledge of recruiting, distribution models, and/or the insurance industry. Agency distribution experience highly preferred. Project management experience and/or certifications highly preferred. Special skills needed... Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to secure 'buy-in' and convince others regarding best approach. Goal oriented team player with a positive attitude. Excellent time management skills. Strong relationship building.
