Job Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Automotive Manufacturing Digital and Engineered to lead our initiatives in automation design, engineering tools management, and AI integration. This role will focus on driving productivity and efficiency enhancements across two major product divisions, managing a comprehensive engineering tools roadmap, and serving as the central point of contact for AI tools across the business. Additionally, the Director will coordinate the engineering application of Palantir Foundry to optimize data-driven decision-making and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Design for Automation: Develop and implement design for automation scorecards to measure and enhance automation processes across manufacturing operations. Establish and manage processes and capabilities to drive automation efficiencies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities for automation and oversee the integration of automated solutions. Engineering Tools Roadmap: Maintain and oversee the engineering tools roadmap for two major product divisions, focusing on advancing productivity and operational efficiency. Evaluate and recommend new engineering tools and technologies that align with strategic objectives and enhance manufacturing processes. Lead initiatives to integrate and standardize engineering tools across divisions, ensuring consistency and maximizing return on investment. AI Tools Integration: Serve as the central point of contact for AI tools and technologies across the business, coordinating their implementation and use in all functions and areas. Develop and execute strategies for leveraging AI to drive innovation, improve decision-making, and enhance overall business performance. Collaborate with data science and IT teams to ensure successful deployment and integration of AI tools within existing systems and workflows. Palantir Foundry Coordination: Oversee the engineering application of Palantir Foundry, ensuring its effective use for data integration, analysis, and visualization. Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business units to leverage Palantir Foundry for improved data-driven insights and decision-making. Drive the adoption of Palantir Foundry within engineering and manufacturing teams, providing guidance and support to maximize its benefits. Strategic Leadership and Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for digital transformation and engineering innovation within manufacturing operations. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for advancement and ensure the organization remains at the forefront of digital and engineered solutions. Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Communicate effectively with senior management, stakeholders, and team members to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives. Present insights, recommendations, and progress reports to executive leadership, demonstrating the impact of digital and engineered initiatives on business performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, vendors, and technology providers.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Extensive experience (10+ years) in automotive manufacturing, engineering management, or a related field, with a proven track record in digital transformation and automation. Strong knowledge of engineering tools, AI technologies, and data integration platforms, including experience with Palantir Foundry. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans for digital and engineered solutions. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience with AI tools and technologies, as well as a deep understanding of their application in manufacturing and engineering contexts.
