Position Summary
The Director of Behavioral Health provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and clinical supervision and oversees program development and compliance for all behavioral health services within the AUCC - SHWC . The Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health services in an outpatient setting for the AUCC member institutions: Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College. This individual will play a key leadership role in promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and resilience within a culturally responsive and inclusive framework.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Doctoral degree in psychiatry
+ Current licensure (DO/MD) in the state of Georgia.
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in behavioral health, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
+ Demonstrated experience in college or university mental health is preferred.
+ Strong understanding of culturally competent mental health practices, particularly in the service of Black college student populations.
+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Experience building collaborative partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in program development
+ Familiarity with integrated care models and trauma-informed approaches
+ Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models, e.g., CBT , DBT , and trauma-informed care
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to analyze data and leverage outcomes for strategic decision-making
+ Bilingual or multicultural competencies (preferred but not required)
+ Grant writing and program development experience.
+ Experience integrating technology and telehealth in mental health care.
+ Sensitivity to the mental health needs of diverse populations, including BIPOC , LGBTQ+, and international students.
