POSITION SUMMARY

The Director - Benefits is responsible for overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's benefits programs. Ensures that benefit programs support the organization's strategic objectives and meet all legal requirements.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

In partnership with executive management, directs the design, implementation and maintenance of Employee Benefits programs that are aligned with company’s vision and goals.In partnership with executive management, develops and leads total reward retention programs to reward performance and ensures programs are internally equitable and externally competitive.Acts as internal consultant on benefits and leave program best practices, industry trends, legislative issues, and market competitiveness by providing technical expertise, advice and guidance to executives, managers, and employees.Designs and administers health and welfare programs including vendor management, annual open enrollments, and manages coverage services with carriers.Directs the management of Benefit Outsource providers to ensure efficient and accurate administration, processing, and maintenance of employee benefit programs.Ensures accurate communication of benefit program information to participants through sophisticated and customized materials and resources .Oversees the administration of the leave of absence programs .Acts as Plan Administrator and fiduciary for 401(k) Retirement plan including leading annual testing, audits, and execution of 5500s; participates as member of 401(k) committee and manages carrier.Ensures compliance with provisions of FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, CFRA, CPDL, ADA, local, state, and federal legislative requirements associated with the management of all, benefit, retirement and leave programs.Manages team including motivating/mentoring staff, conducting performance reviews, and performing disciplinary action as appropriate.Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.Minimum 10 years related work experience.Financial Services experience is required; Mortgage experience preferred.
