Director of Beverage
Job Description Job Summary:The Director of Beverage is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations across Rosewood Doha, ensuring excellence in service, innovation, and profitability. This role includes developing and executing beverage programs, maintaining quality and compliance standards, managing inventory, and leading the beverage team. The Director of Beverage will work closely with other departments to drive guest satisfaction and uphold the brand’s reputation. The role also requires strategic planning, cost control, marketing collaboration, and training initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience while meeting financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Service Excellence:
Upholds the brand’s commitment to delivering exceptional guest service at all times.
Ensures a high level of guest engagement by interacting with patrons and gathering feedback.
Maintains strong guest and colleague relationships through effective communication and leadership.
Oversees service standards in all beverage outlets, ensuring compliance with luxury service expectations.
Handles guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Beverage Program & Operations Management:
Designs and implements innovative beverage menus, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market trends.
Develops signature cocktails, wine pairings, and unique beverage experiences that enhance the overall dining experience.
Ensures all beverage outlets operate efficiently and meet service standards.
Oversees all beverage-related equipment maintenance and operational readiness.
Monitors beverage service during peak periods and makes real-time adjustments to enhance guest experience.
Maintains and enforces compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws and regulations.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities:
Develops and manages the beverage department’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
Analyzes beverage sales and cost data to optimize profitability.
Oversees beverage inventory, procurement, and cost control measures, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste.
Establishes and enforces portion control and standard operating procedures to manage costs effectively.
Collaborates with finance and purchasing teams to ensure strategic vendor partnerships and pricing negotiations.
Team Leadership & Training:
Recruits, trains, and mentors beverage team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Conducts regular training sessions on product knowledge, mixology techniques, and service standards.
Develops performance management plans to enhance team productivity and engagement.
Ensures all team members are knowledgeable about seasonal offerings, promotions, and industry trends.
Marketing & Brand Positioning:
Partners with marketing and public relations teams to promote beverage offerings and events.
Identifies opportunities for beverage-led promotions, collaborations, and partnerships to enhance brand visibility.
Stays informed about industry trends and competitor activities to ensure Rosewood Doha remains a market leader.
Creates and executes beverage promotions that align with brand values and guest preferences.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensures all beverage operations adhere to Forbes, Rosewood Brand, and LQA standards.
Maintains food safety and sanitation protocols in all beverage outlets.
Conducts regular audits and compliance checks to uphold safety and quality control standards.
Develops and implements responsible alcohol service policies and staff training programs.
