Director of Brand Management Location: Fort Wayne, IN Level: Salaried Company - Division: Do it Best - Marketing and Ecommerce Reports To: Vice President, Marketing and Ecommerce Travel: Markets About the Role: The Director, Brand Management is a critical leadership role within the Marketing and Ecommerce division at Do it Best, driving growth and innovation for our $300MM+ private label brand portfolio. The Director, Brand Management will be responsible for establishing and executing a comprehensive private label strategy, working cross-functionally to align assortment architecture, sales strategies, and marketing initiatives. This role requires a dynamic leader who excels in category management, portfolio growth, and leveraging data-driven analytics to optimize SKU productivity and profitability. The Director will act as a champion of private label brands, ensuring their success in the marketplace and their alignment with overall business goals. Responsibilities include: + Lead and grow a $300MM+ brand portfolio, delivering measurable increases in sales and margin while driving strategic alignment across the organization. + Develop and implement an assortment architecture strategy for private label products, optimizing SKU productivity and ensuring alignment with consumer needs and business objectives. + Establish and manage a company-wide private label strategy and process in collaboration with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams. + Champion private label brands with internal teams, members, and customers, ensuring alignment across all channels and touchpoints. + Provide thought leadership on private label brand management, positioning Do it Best as an industry leader in retail private label strategy. + Drive go-to-market execution for new and existing private label brands, leveraging insights from category management and trade marketing. + Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of product launches and promotional strategies. + Oversee P&L management for the private label portfolio, ensuring profitability and long-term success. + Leverage data-driven analytics to guide decision-making, identify growth opportunities, and refine brand strategies. + Partner with Ecommerce and Digital Marketing teams to align online and offline strategies for private label brands. + Drive category growth strategies by developing and executing impactful go-to-market plans across diverse channels + Refine and manage brand portfolios to improve profitability and align with company growth objectives, achieving measurable gains in gross margin and revenue. + Drive brand growth and profitability by developing consumer-focused strategies and optimizing product portfolios to meet customer needs and market opportunities. + Develop and execute category strategies that include product innovation pipelines, go-to-market plans, and white space opportunities to achieve sustained sales growth. + Provide leadership and direction to a diverse team, fostering collaboration across functions to achieve organizational goals. + Foster the growth and development of team members by providing mentorship, coaching, and opportunities for skill-building, ensuring a high-performing and collaborative team culture. Education and Experience: + 10-15 years of experience in marketing, merchandising, or brand management, with a strong focus on category management, private label, or CPG. + Experience in retail required. + Proven track record of growing brand portfolios and driving measurable business results. + Retail experience strongly preferred, particularly in private label or category management. Skills and Abilities: + Expertise in marketing strategy, portfolio management, and go-to-market execution. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. + Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams. + Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and delivering on a strong vision. + Ability to collaborate and partner effectively across all divisions, including merchandising, sales, and marketing. + Proficiency in trade marketing, P&L management, and digital marketing strategies. + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders. Additional Considerations: + Experience with technical marketing and innovation is a plus. + Familiarity with Ecommerce strategies and digital marketing execution is highly desirable. + A background in data-driven analytics and using insights to drive business strategies is preferred.
