Director of Business Development

Carmeuse is seeking a strategic and ambitious Director of Business Development to join our team. This role involves working closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and the Senior Directors of Sales & Marketing for the construction, building, and agriculture end market segments. The primary focus will be on building external relationships to identify potential partners and acquisition targets, facilitating the growth of Carmeuse in North America.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in business development and a deep understanding of the construction, aggregates, and limestone mining industries. They will possess strong strategic thinking abilities and be adept at building and maintaining relationships. This individual will be a proactive leader with a broad business acumen and the ability to drive the growth of Carmeuse in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Senior Directors to develop and execute strategic business development plans focusing on acquisitions.  Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and analysis, ensuring the company invests economically in attractive projects in line with our financial objectives, legal standards, and risk tolerances. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting external relationships with key stakeholders in the construction, aggregates, and limestone mining industries. Develop and implement strategies to identify potential partners and acquisition targets. Prepare, implement and monitor long range plans and budgets. Represent Carmeuse at industry events and conferences to enhance brand presence and network with potential partners. Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a successful growth strategy is developed and executed.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous. Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction, aggregates, or limestone mining industries. Established industry relationships and a strong network within the relevant sectors. Excellent strategic thinking and visioning skills. Strong business acumen and the ability to build relationships easily. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM software.
