Director of Business Intelligence, Remote

As a Director of Business Intelligence, you will be at the forefront of our mission to deliver better health, better care, and lower costs. You will be responsible for the analytic vision and execution within your domains, aligning with Aledade's commitment to patients, practices, and society.
You will manage senior stakeholders and their initiatives, driving company key results that reflect our values of service, accountability, curiosity, evidence, and inclusion and belonging. Your strong technical background will enable you to be a strategic advisor to BI team members. You will guide them in building complex datasets, data visualizations, analyses, and data-driven storytelling that are crucial for achieving our mission. You will lead both BI managers and individual contributors, ensuring that our technical direction is aligned with business goals.
You will play a key role in defining product technical roadmaps and work with product management and stakeholders to maintain clarity regarding evolving customer/business needs, objectives, and priorities.
Primary Duties:Collaboration and Integration: (35%) Work seamlessly with stakeholders across Aledade, ensuring BI insights are integrated into decision-making, reflecting our value of evidence and mission to improve healthcare. Serve as an organizational leader, developing strong working relationships built on confidence, mutual respect, honesty, and trust. Foster collaborative decision-making, remove barriers to collaboration, and act as a conduit for technical communication across the organization.Team Leadership and Development: (25%) Manage a team of managers and professionals, fostering a culture of inclusion, belonging, and accountability. Provide technical and career mentorship, along with timely performance feedback. Mentor managers on developing their skills, providing feedback, setting goals, and ensuring growth plans for their teams. Consistently conduct 1:1s with direct and skip-level reports to maintain a strong understanding of engagement levels.Strategic Input: (15%) Provide input to strategic decisions within your domain, including roadmapping and developing the annual budget, aligned with our commitment to curiosity and long-term success. Contribute to defining product technical roadmaps and oversee the development of effective technology business cases, demonstrating an understanding of business value creation.Metric and KPI Governance: (15%) Help coordinate organizational strategies for metric and KPI governance, design, implementation, integration, and usage, embodying our values of evidence and accountability. Drive the definition and capture of key business process metrics.Business Intelligence Tools and Applications: (10%) Direct and oversee high-level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications. Advocate for developer tools and technologies where efficiency gains are valuable and productivity savings exceed transition and licensing costs.Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree either directly focused on data analytics or one with significant data analytics coursework, or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence, with 5+ years in a management role, specifically leading and developing high-performing BI teams.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or AbilitiesValue-Based Care Expertise: Deep knowledge of value-based care principles, metrics, and industry trends. Expert in developing technology business cases for healthcare.Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL, relational databases, data warehousing, ETL, and data visualization (Tableau). Familiar with advanced analytics and cloud platforms.Data Management Experience: Extensive experience in data management and manipulation, particularly with healthcare data (claims, EHR, clinical). Leverage performance metrics to identify team strengths and encourage knowledge sharing.Communication & Influence: Outstanding communication and stakeholder management, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business insights. Proactively address evolving needs and risk mitigation.Healthcare Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare, including value-based care, population health, and HIPAA compliance. Experience with healthcare data sources and behavioral health. Mentor teams in backlog grooming and sprint planning.Project Management: Skilled in managing complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
