Director of Business Systems and Software Engineer
The Director of ERP and Software Engineering will lead the planning, development, and execution of the company's ERP systems and software engineering initiatives. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the successful delivery of software solutions that enhance operational efficiency. The Director will manage the overall ERP Team and the IT Business Systems Manager. The Director will play a key role in shaping technology strategy, building scalable and robust enterprise systems, and fostering innovation within the engineering teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience

15+ years of experience in Health IT systems, software engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in a leadership position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven experience managing large-scale software implementations (e.g., Epic, clinical software, custom developed software, etc.).Deep understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies.Strong experience with enterprise architecture, systems integration, and cloud technologies.Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute long-term strategies for ERP system implementation, integration, and optimization to support business processes.Define and oversee software engineering initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and technology strategy.Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business needs.

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage teams of ERP specialists, software engineers, and project managers.Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development.Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure team efficiency and quality deliverables.

ERP System Oversight:

Oversee the full lifecycle of ERP projects, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.Ensure proper integration of ERP solutions with other business systems.Collaborate with functional departments (finance, HR, supply chain) to assess and optimize ERP usage.Manage vendor relationships and negotiations for ERP software and services.

Software Development Oversight:

Direct software development activities including architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment.Drive adoption of best practices in software engineering (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.).Ensure scalability, performance, and security of all software solutions.Keep up to date with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to the business.

Project and Budget Management:

Develop and manage the annual budget for ERP and software engineering initiatives.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.Implement processes to manage risk and compliance associated with technology systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with various departments such as finance, supply chain, HR, and Clinical Service Lines to understand and address business challenges through technology.Drive collaboration between ERP and software teams for seamless project execution.

Stakeholder Communication:

Regularly report project status, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.Communicate technology strategy and project milestones to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Pay Range

$116,931.28 - $210,476.31

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
