Salary Range: $97,350 to $120,850
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Campus Stores and Mailroom, on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. The Director oversees the buying and selling of University of St Thomas merchandise and course material and is responsible for the budgeting and other accounting functions in the Campus Stores and Mail room. Develops marketing plans and special events throughout the year for all operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Coordinate and direct Campus Stores and Mail Services staff members in their assigned duties. Areas of merchandising, ordering, inventory control, incoming, and outgoing shipments, sales reporting and cash deposits. Oversee the completion of chargebacks to departments and ensure that the export to Banner is completed.
+ Perform a wide variety of budgetary, financial, marketing, and merchandising activities to ensure efficiency and profitability of the Campus Stores and Mail Services; develop yearly budgets for all locations and monitor weekly and monthly sales and expenses for each operation.
+ Oversee the direct purchasing of all products and ensure inventory controls are in place. Work closely with the store buyers and managers in maintaining good inventory levels and ensuring that university funds are managed and spent wisely.
+ Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff members, coordinate with our HR Partner any disciplinary or termination actions. Interview and select new employees for hire. Review staff work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with store and university standards. Approve the weekly work schedules.
+ Work with the course materials company to ensure availability of course materials to all students.
+ Plan, organize, direct the operations and activities of Mail Services; this includes shipping and receiving, courier services, and mail distribution on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.
+ Oversee the annual Grad Fest/Graduation, and supervise the ordering of all caps and gowns, hoods, and announcements.
+ Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Seven years of retail management experience with a strong dedication to customer service
Preferred Qualifications
+ Additional experience in budget management, purchasing, merchandising, inventory management, POS maintenance and web development/maintenance
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
