**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, the Director of Capital Markets and Funding will support Equitable’s (EQH) debt and equity capital markets activities and contingent liquidity facilities, in addition to the insurance subsidiaries spread lending portfolio – including the FHLB, FABN and securities lending programs. This role is highly visible and instrumental in maintaining EQH’s financial flexibility and improving the risk-adjusted earnings ability of the underlying insurance businesses.
**Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Develop and execute solutions to optimize the company’s capital structure and contingent liquidity facilities
+ Conduct debt/equity capital raising projects (senior, hybrid, preferred, equity issuance), evaluating market opportunities and taking into consideration investors’ expectations, peer practices, rating agency treatment and balance sheet impact
+ Grow and optimize the Company’s spread lending program – including FHLB, FABN, repo and securities lending
+ Recommend and implement capital return strategies, including dividend and share buybacks
+ Help manage relationships with 20 US and global banks
+ Coach and develop junior members of the Capital Markets team
**In office schedule:** This role will be working in office 2-3 days per week
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

**Qualifications**
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelors Degree
+ 5 years of corporate finance or capital markets experience at financial institutions
+ Knowledge of and experience with capital markets instruments and derivatives
+ Working knowledge of US statutory accounting, reserving, and RBC rules, particularly for variable annuities preferred
+ Ability to develop cross-functional relationships to build cohesive and collaborative teams, acting as strategic driver and manager of key strategic initiatives
+ Project management experience with the ability to demonstrate leadership in the sponsorship and execution of multiple, concurrent and complex business initiatives
+ Executive presence required to present to senior management and various committee form
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Masters or other advanced degree
+ Experience with spread lending programs at insurance companies
+ Established critical thinking, sound judgment, complex problem-solving and execution skills
+ Adept at persuasive communications, supported by insightful, fact-based analyses and industry expertise
+ Experience with Federal Home Loan Banks or Farmer Mac
+ Expertise with liquidity management in a financial services company
+ Experience reviewing and negotiations of contracts, working with EQH’s internal Legal Department

**Investments:** Knowledge of the investments business; ability to analyze and evaluate asset types, market and industry trends, major issues, and regulatory considerations.
**Letters of Credit:** Knowledge of Letters of Credit concepts, rules, and regulations; ability to implement, manage, or execute processes associated with Letters of Credit (L/C), including: issuance, amendment, advice, confirmation, transfer, assignment and payments.
**Liquidity Risk Management:** Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques used to determine the degree of liquidity risk in a financial institution; ability to identify, measure, monitor and control the institution’s exposure to liquidity risk.
**Staff and Career Development:** Knowledge of available internal and external learning resources and ability to address learning, training, and career development needs of individuals, teams or organization.
**Treasury Services:** Knowledge of treasury services; ability to properly use treasury products and services, and adopt business practices that are in use by banks, financial services institutions, major corporations, governments and other entities.
