Job Summary\:

The Director of Career and Experiential Learning in the College of Education and Human Development provides leadership and oversight for the career development, student engagement, and experiential learning initiatives in the college, managing relevant programs and services for undergraduate and graduate students across diverse programs and certificates.

The Director will lead assessment and evaluation efforts of unit initiatives in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Career and Student Development, Experiential Learning Coordinator, and Field Placement Administrator. The director will work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean and CEHD advising to identify opportunities for integrating academic and professional development experiences.

This position requires a deep understanding of student needs, student engagement and career development, a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to promote student success.

Required Education & Experience\:

        Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education administration, counseling, or related field is required.

        Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in career/professional development, and/or experiential learning work; knowledge of  best practice, trends, and     theories theories in the career field.

 Experience in closely related fields, preferably within a higher education setting can be considered

Required Skills & Abilities\:

       Strong critical and creative thinking skills, with the ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to drive. Continuous improvement and create  accurate assessments.

       Demonstrated success in supervising staff, leading people, and fostering a healthy team environment.

       Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex problems efficiently and effectively within the framework of standard operating procedures, policies, and processes; implement appropriate solutions as needed.

         Willingness and ability to travel to experiential learning sites, including locations that may not be accessible by public transportation.

        Familiarity with student information systems and data analysis tools is preferred.

Excellent communication skills; ability to convey ideas and information clearly and comprehensively.
