Director of Clinical Operations (RN Nursing)

The Director of Clinical Operations (RN Nursing) is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical functions within Primary & Specialty Care. They will also be responsible for the direct oversight of clinical staff including Lead Registered Nurses and indirect oversight of Lead Licensed Practical Nurses, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and medical assistants. The Director of Clinical Operations will support the development, implementation and monitoring of processes that improve procedures and patient throughput. Essentials Functions: + Oversees and monitors daily clinical workflow and patient throughput for the medical practice and takes necessary actions to improve patient flow. + Demonstrates strong understanding of current practice standards and workflows. Establishes, implements, and maintains workflows, practice standards and policies and procedures to support all clinical roles. Assist with evaluating and maintaining a staffing model that meets the standards of practice. + Through nurse leads, ensures nursing and patient care staff provide high quality, accessible, and patient focused services which comply with local, state, and federal requirements; implements and maintains clinical and patient care practice standards, and staff. + Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaborations with all levels of management, staff, providers, and patients. + Leads clinical huddle meetings and actioning on items learned in those meetings through appropriate cross-disciplinary follow up and resolution. + Assists with oversight for laboratory services, including workflow and patient throughput as well as maintaining documentation for the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) and Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) waivers. + Provides oversight to Vaccine for Children (VFC) program, including requirements for audits and adherence to policy and procedures. + Follows up on patient experience issues; assures patient experience issues are resolved and documented; reports out to leadership on patient experience as requested. + Determines, implements, and monitors the effectiveness of performance improvement initiatives. Continuously seeks and implements operational improvements in clinical flow. + Establishes clinical competencies for all clinical positions specific to scope of practice. Identifies and coordinates in-service education and training for clinical staff that is necessary to provide overall patient experience. + Supports and maintains quality assurance programs and safety, environmental and infection control standards. Qualified Candidate will have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State. A Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) strongly preferred. Current BLS certification. The qualified candidate will have at minimum, three (3) years of clinical supervisory experience. Candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidate will have strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate as appropriate. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills necessary. Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, addiction and LGBT issues essential. Job Type: Full-time Required Education/Certification/Experience: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in NYS. Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) strongly preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical supervisory experience. Preferred experience: Experience working in an EMR systems (Medent) strong preferred.
