Responsible for the oversight of specialty pharmacy clinical payer relationships and strategic development of specialty pharmacy clinical innovation with the goal of winning and retaining key specialty clients that drive profitability for Fairview Specialty Pharmacy Services. Responsible for tracking specialty pharmacy pipeline in order to contribute to strategy, planning, and execution of market-leading clinical programs, products, and service offerings that enhance the value proposition and position Fairview Specialty Pharmacy for success in the competitive specialty marketplace. Additionally, provide consultative expertise to internal teams and external partners, including payers (health plans), employers, and health system clients, fostering collaboration and driving transformative solutions.
Responsibilities/Job DescriptionStrategy
Participate in the development and management of a comprehensive, market-based payer strategy.Participate in strategy planning and lead development of innovative clinical programs, products, and services, based on assessment of market needs, to increase Fairview Specialty Pharmacy’s value and ability to successfully compete and win in the market.Monitor and track specialty pipeline to contribute to planning and successful execution of market-leading clinical program, product, and service offerings to position FSP for success in competitive bidding scenarios against national specialty pharmacy organizations.
Clinical Program Development
Develop strategies to position Fairview as a leader in specialty pharmacy clinical innovation. Monitor specialty pharmacy pipeline and changes in standards of care to identify opportunities to maximize the return on investment with specialty drugs for key health plan and large employer clients.Lead the development of new clinical protocols for specialty disease states that improve outcomes and manages costs with specialty drugs.Direct strategy for outcomes projects and reporting to demonstrate value, meet expected reporting requirements, and demonstrate performance metric achievement.Develop requirements for automating clinical result reporting and dashboards to measure/trend performance.
Account Management and Sales
Provide account and relationship management of current and new specialty pharmacy payer accounts, resulting in client retention, loyalty, and profitability for the organization.Present specialty pharmacy pipeline/market dynamics and collaborate with payers to develop/enhance services that improve outcomes and decrease costs.Leads client meetings to review Specialty Pharmacy’s new clinical programs and performance results using comprehensive reporting tailored to client needs.Responsible for clinical content for specialty pharmacy sales initiatives, including “Requests for Proposals” (RFP/s) and/or “Requests for Information” (RFI/s) to attain access to new limited distribution products and to attain or retain payer clients.Oversee Specialty Pharmacy Pipeline monitoring to facilitate sales strategies geared to successfully securing access to limited distribution drugs that are integral to providing care to complex patients and winning important payer contracts.
Consultative Services
Provide insight and consultation on specialty pharmacy landscape, pipeline, and market trends.Provides consultative expertise to assist clients (including health plans, employers, and health system clients) with strategy formation, and recommendations for program and/or plan improvements.Collaborates with specialty expert providers and clinics across M Health organization to provide key payer clients with insight into the management of specialty diseases. PharmD Degree in Pharmacy (RPH)7+ years of leadership experience in managed care or specialty pharmacyManagerial experience or experience developing programs across functional groupsLicensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in MinnesotaPreferred Qualifications
