Position Summary: The Director of Colleague Health Nursing leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures related to all colleague health clinical services and will work collaboratively with the Director of Colleague Health Operations to develop and interpret departmental short- and long-term goals and objectives. The Director will lead nursing practice and care for colleague health, analyzing clinical practice and identifying opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency while maintaining compliance with all clinical policies, procedures and regulations. Key Accountabilities: * Develops and implements innovative programs and services that improve colleague and patient quality and safety * Creates an engaging and supportive environment where the Colleague Health Services team can excel at supporting colleagues across the system * Contributes to a learning environment by providing educational experiences to the team * Monitors patient care and analyzes nursing care patterns and initiates quality improvement procedures to enhance patient services; ensures a safe, therapeutic environment * Develops and implements clinical outcome measures for quality improvement, cost and complication reduction, and the implementation of evidence-based medicine * Articulates and uphold standards for quality and safe patient care * Incorporates the use of evidence-based practice into program development and improvement activities * Initiates, monitors and enforces regulatory requirements * Bachelor’s and Master's degrees are required. At least one degree must be in Nursing * Current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut * Five plus years of nursing clinical experience is required * Two plus years of leadership experience is required * The ability to work with diverse groups of providers, clinicians, nursing staff and all disciplines and appreciate their contributions to the strategic direction of the healthcare system * Intellectually facile, will have the ability to be conceptually creative, grasp large amounts of information quickly, and articulate conclusions in a clear manner * Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization * A creative, forward-thinking leader with the proven ability to engage, coach and mentor direct reports, colleagues and other key stakeholders * Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills * Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal * Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of management and clinical information We take great care of careers.
