Director of Communication & Public Information (FT) - Seacoast

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

The Director of Communications and Public Information along with the Corporate VP of of McLeod Health Marketing and Communications is responsible for supporting, planning and directing marketing programs design to market existing services, and execute programs of action to increase both inpatient and outpatient volumes while evaluating trends in customer attitudes.  

Develops and advertising and promotional strategy support of the systems strategic plan and supports the design development and maintenance of all marketing materials including but not limited to printed materials, website, print/television/radio advertisement, campaigns, mailing and newsletters. Assists in the assessment and preparation of physician needs and requirement for the meeting community outreach events and support and develops partnership opportunities with area business and organization.  Identify healthcare needs of the community, assist with identifying potential new services, and assist senior management with the effort to become a market driven organization that is fiscally responsible as well as highly responsive to community health and medical service priorities.  Other duties as assigned including attending night and weekend events.

 

Qualifications/Training:

Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, department heads, and executive leadership. Effectively utilize strong organizational and teamwork skills. Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.   At least five years of experience in marketing, preferably in a healthcare setting

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

Bachelors degree in public relations, marketing, communications, business or closely related field required.  Master's degree preferred.
