The Public Health Program in the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech seeks a Director of Community-Engaged Experiences to support students in our MPH degree program, which is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Reporting to the MPH Director, this position will lead the program’s efforts to prepare our students to enter the public health workforce with professionalism and practice-based experience.
Specifically, this position will have administrative responsibility for all aspects of the MPH practicum experience, including developing practice-based placements, matching students with placements on the basis of their career goals, monitoring student performance during the placement, and overseeing the delivery and assessment of the required work products. The ideal candidate for this position will have a demonstrated commitment to building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with a broad range of community partners. As the position will also provide career counseling, familiarity with public health career pathways is also essential.
