Director of Community Integration Engagement

The National Director of Community Integration and Engagement (NDCIE) serves as the national leader for all resident programming, family engagement, social wellbeing interventions, associate onboarding and training, and resident move in experience. This role ensures that Artis brand and service standards are upheld by overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and evaluation of The Director of Artis Way and Life Enrichment service and program delivery across all communities, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Integration and EngagementDirect and oversee resident onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions into Artis communities, including supporting initial profile gathering and assessments, orientation, and family integration. Lead the development and implementation of individualized and group programs that align with the Artis Wellbeing Model, fostering meaningful engagement and improved quality of life. Lead DAWE and Life Enrichment business optimization efforts with cross functional departments to ensure that resident interests and wellbeing needs are integrated into all aspects of community life. Lead resident profiles and engagement strategies and support how they are integrated into Artis technology platforms so we can collect and share resident stories and needs across all services. Family Communication and Partnership: Serve as the primary national leader for Artis brand standards around family engagement strategies, ensuring effective communication, regular updates, and meaningful interactions and event opportunities. Oversee and train to Artis’s creation and delivery of family communication including monthly newsletters templates, SMS texts, support group best practices, and family care plan meetings. Lead how we teach and train families in support of their understanding of dementia-specific care and programming. Associate Onboarding, Training, and Recognition: Oversee associate onboarding programs to ensure all team members are well-equipped to deliver on the Artis promise. Develop and deliver ongoing training in dementia-specific care, service delivery, and resident engagement. Support Executive Directors in the management and promotion of the Positive Partner recognition program nationally, ensuring consistent implementation and meaningful acknowledgment of associates. Program Development and Oversight: Create and drive clear quality Artis brand standards for Life Enrichment program delivery including group programs, individual programs and family engagement. Co-creation and execution of national initiatives that support Artis’ vision for holistic wellbeing along with other functional leaders, ensuring alignment with the Artis mission and goals. Oversee the creation of monthly activity calendars and ensure that all Artis proprietary programs like "Time to Dish," "Town Hall Meetings," and "IWrite" are branded and executed consistently. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to highlight Life Enrichment and Artis Way programming as key differentiators in the market. Leadership and Collaboration: Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to Directors of the Artis Way Experience and Directors of Life Enrichment across all communities. Lead national calls and meetings with DAWEs and DLEs to share best practices, provide updates, and align on strategic goals. Serve as a subject matter expert in dementia-specific engagement and wellbeing, representing Artis at conferences, webinars, and CEU programs. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all programs comply with safety, health, and legal regulations, maintaining the highest standards of quality and ethics. Maintain the DAWE and DLE Sharepoint Content library and assets Conduct audits of programming and training libraries to ensure alignment with evidence-based practices and Artis standards. Partner with technology teams to optimize the use of systems like VITALS, ALIS, SAGELY, and others to enhance program delivery and tracking. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Gerontology, or a related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior living, healthcare, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on memory care or dementia services. Certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT), or similar is preferred. Skills and Competencies Expertise in dementia care practices, including non-pharmacological interventions, Montessori principles, and therapeutic engagement strategies. Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and influence across all levels of the organization. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust with families, staff, and external stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance big-picture vision with attention to operational details. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to memory care and senior living. Key Success Metrics Improved family satisfaction as measured by surveys and Positive family feedback and increased referrals for memory care services. Increased resident quality of life and outcomes as measured by care plan delivery. Consistent implementation of memory care programs across all communities, with measurable outcomes. High staff engagement and retention rates within memory care teams. Recognition of the organization as a leader in memory care and holistic wellbeing. Work Environment and Travel This position requires a combination of office-based work and travel to senior living communities within the organization’s portfolio. Travel is estimated at 35+%, depending on organizational needs and program rollout schedules.\
