Director of Community Outreach - Ignite Positive Change! FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time  Direct Reporting: Executive Director  Salary: $20.34-23.37 per hour   Location: Oceanside, CA This role is based in Southern California, specifically in Oceanside, CA (North San Diego County). It is located inside a miliary base installation. Base access is provided to civilian employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Community Engagement:  + Foster and maintain positive relationships with funding sources, community organizations, and influential leaders to support the organization’s mission.  + Develop and execute communication and outreach strategies designed to engage military constituents effectively.  + Represent the organization at community events to enhance visibility and strengthen partnerships.  Community Engagement:  + Create, promote, and manage a diverse range of volunteer opportunities across the organization.  + Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, and placement of volunteers, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.  + Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.  + Organize and lead volunteer orientation, training, and ongoing supervision, in collaboration with the Director of Services.  + Develop and implement volunteer policies, procedures, service descriptions, and standards.  + Plan and execute volunteer recognition programs, including appreciation events and activities.  + Evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.  + Build and sustain relationships with local volunteer organizations to encourage collaboration and promote awareness.  Administrative Responsibilities:  + Collaborate with the Executive Director to prepare the annual budget for outreach and volunteer development. Oversee budget implementation, monitor performance, and suggest corrective actions to meet financial objectives.  + Assist in the planning and execution of service-oriented and fundraising events to support the organization’s mission and goals.  OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES + Prepare and present comprehensive monthly reports for Board of Management meetings and actively participate in these sessions.  + Ensure full compliance with directives and deadlines from National Headquarters.  + Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.  + Adhere to all Armed Services YMCA employee guidelines.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   + Minimum of two years of college coursework and two years of relevant experience in program management or a similar nonprofit role.  + Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two or more years of experience in a position with comparable responsibilities. Experience in military service programs and management is highly desirable.  + A combination of education and experience equivalent to the stated minimum requirements may be considered.  + At least one year of demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience.  + Highly reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.  + Willingness to travel as needed.  + Successful completion of a background check is required.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  + Professional demeanor with strong integrity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.  + Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively under varying deadlines.  + Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills.  + Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.  + Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.  + Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, including conflict resolution in a professional and positive manner.  + General understanding of nonprofit organizational practices and operations.  + Familiarity with or willingness to learn volunteer management software to support tracking and development of volunteer programs.  PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
