Director of Consumer Lending
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the financial industry, specifically in consumer lending, based in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The Director of Consumer Lending will manage and direct the consumer lending teams, overseeing a range of processes such as loan application underwriting, processing and booking, third-party vendor management, and credit risk control. The role involves working with internal and external members to improve service, while also assisting with planning and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities: • Supervise and manage all areas of consumer lending • Oversee loan application underwriting, processing and booking • Manage relationships with third-party vendors • Configure loan origination systems • Deploy internal credit risk controls • Allocate appropriate resources to tasks and processes • Ensure service directives are met and seek opportunities to improve service • Assist the Chief Lending Officer with planning and strategic initiatives • Utilize data analytics to drive growth and innovation in the consumer lending business line • Provide leadership, motivate, and coach employees to ensure team goals are met • Adhere to BSA - Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC Regulation • Monitor expenditures and budget. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior position within the consumer lending industry • Proficiency in consumer lending, consumer loans, loan underwriting, and credit risk management • Demonstrated capability to provide strategic insights based on data analytics • Proven executive leadership skills and experience • Experience in indirect lending • Track record of optimizing portfolio performance • Proficient in making informed lending decisions based on lending guidelines • Familiarity with loan origination process • Ability to identify potential fraud in lending operations • Expertise in credit appraisals, credit application, and credit approvals • Experience in monitoring expenditures and budget • Knowledge of BSA - Bank Secrecy Act • Familiarity with OFAC Regulation • Understanding and adherence to credit union policies.
