Director of Contract Strategy & Management

This senior leadership role is part of the Service Delivery & Client Support leadership team and is the primary interface with the Sales & Product organization to establish process and align priorities on creating the client contract packages required to sell and deliver revenue.  This role directly leads all Contract Strategists supporting all four segments of the business. Additional provides leadership for the management of the contract function through the contract admin, payments solution engineering, and DDM onboarding & compliance teams. This position is responsible for setting the enterprise contracting strategy in alignment with key senior business stakeholders from Legal, Compliance, Finance, Product, Operations, Sales, PMO, Delivery Services, and many others.  This leader paves the way for each Strategist to best support their business segment through robust internal partnerships and clear communication.

Job Functions:

Contract Negotiation:  Draft, negotiate and engage cross-functionally as a strategic business partner on critical, complex and revenue impacting Enterprise client contracts which warrant the Contract Strategy leader’s engagement.

Payments Contracting Focus:  Work closely with the Payments Contract Strategy Leader and Manager of Solution Engineering to ensure process, templates and workload are effectively driving critical revenue in the Payments segment.

Team Strategy & Vision:  Strategize with and mentor the Contract Strategists to set appropriate goals and deliver upon them to effectively support each business segment to mitigate risk and enable revenue.   Establish and maintain key performance metrics related to Enterprise contracting and communicate to Executive leadership regularly.     

Contract Lifecycle Management:  Provide strategic leadership to the Manager of Contract Strategy Administration related to CLM strategy and execution, template management and key SLA metrics related to all contract drafting.  

Sales Partnership:  Liaise with Sales Leadership across four segments, to ensure visibility to key deals on a monthly / quarterly basis, and ensure workloads are assigned appropriately for Contract Strategy team to deliver

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience

Experience with MS-Office applications, SalesforceAt least 5 years’ informal or formal experience leading teamsAt least 5 years’ experience negotiating complex contracts and understanding deal financials

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor

Experience: 8 years in Contract Management, Contract Negotiation and Business leadership

Experience in the Financial Services, Banking or FinTech spaceExperience understanding and analyzing complex regulatory guidance and laws related to the Financial Services and Banking industriesExpert contract drafter, negotiator, and managerStrong commitment to enhancing leadership competencies, understanding, and embracing Deluxe’s corporateculture, and a willingness to come up with creative solutions when neededExceptional attention to detail and organization skills, including an ability to process reengineer.Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.Effective communication skills with team members across the Deluxe organization, including at the Executive level.Strong analytical, issue spotting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and escalate key risksInterpersonal savvy, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving, action oriented, written communications, listening, time management, composure, creativity, learning on the fly and business acumen.Excellent ability to mentor and coach team members

Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
