Job Overview The Director of Contracts will be responsible for ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, supporting the capture and proposal development process, administering Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), and overseeing all contractual compliance activities. This role will provide strategic oversight of contractual risks, requirements, and deliverables, ensuring that all contract terms are met and mitigate potential legal or financial exposure for the company. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, legal, finance, and operations, to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle of contracts. Work Model: Hybrid Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Capture and Proposal Development Support: Collaborate with the business development and proposal teams to review and advise on the terms and conditions of proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Provide guidance on risk management strategies for contracts during the capture phase. Review RFPs (Requests for Proposals), RFQs (Requests for Quotes), and other solicitation documents, and advise on appropriate contractual strategies. Develop and maintain a repository of best practices, templates, and compliance checklists to streamline proposal responses and contract negotiation processes. GWAC Contract Administration: Oversee the administration and management of GWAC contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms, conditions, and requirements. Act as the primary point of contact with government contracting officers and other stakeholders regarding GWACs. Ensure timely submission of all required documentation, reports, and deliverables under GWAC agreements. Contractual Compliance: Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program for all contractual obligations and deliverables, ensuring that all contracts are executed and managed in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as internal policies. Monitor contract performance and ensure timely, accurate reporting and resolution of any non-compliance issues. Review and track performance metrics, milestones, and other contract-specific requirements to ensure obligations are met throughout the lifecycle of each contract. Identify and resolve any compliance issues that may arise, working closely with legal and finance teams as necessary. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in government contracts and compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. In lieu of a degree, 13 years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted. In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), GWACs, and other relevant contracting and compliance laws. Proven experience supporting capture and proposal development in a government contracting environment. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Preferred: Certification in Contracts Management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM). Knowledge of Small Business and 8(a) practices and policies is a plus. Experience with capture management and proposal development in the federal contracting environment. Strong understanding of risk management principles as applied to contracts and compliance.
