Job OverviewUnder the direction of and reporting to the Vice-President of FP&A, the Director of FP&A Corporate will provide financial planning, reporting, modeling, and analysis services that will assist in strategic decision-making at the executive level of the company. Communicating principally with corporate leadership, the Director of FP&A Corporate will work to effectively address deficiencies discovered as a result of the budgeting or reporting processes and work to cure those issues and strengthen procedures with certain immediacy.
Roles You Will Play Build annual financial plan and interim reforecasts for Investment Management business, Property Management business, Shared Service functions, and parent entitiesPrepare monthly financial reports, to include variance analysesPrepare ad-hoc reporting, including board decks, profitability analyses, scorecards.Update 5/10 year projection models as needed Build financial models as needed for internal/external stakeholdersPrepare monthly cash forecastsManage associates to timely complete the deliverables associated with the principal responsibilities of the role. Building Blocks of Success 7+ years of experience with financial analysis, corporate finance, or accounting; real estate industry experience a plusBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA a plusThorough understanding of financial reporting and financial modeling, experience with Workday Adaptive is a plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication skills that will allow effective dialogue with all levels of management within the organizationMust demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, effective teamwork skills, strong initiative, attention to detail, ability to balance multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines, and readiness to adapt to changeExperience developing and presenting complex topics to senior management OutroAt Cortland, we create, reimagine, and manage apartment communities for residents nationwide.
