Reporting directly to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and Senior Advisor to the President, the Director of Creative Services oversees the design, preparation, production and distribution of hundreds of print materials promoting greater visibility and awareness of Queens College's programs and assets, consistent with the College's Strategic Plan.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, specific duties include but are not limited to:
+ Implements, supports and ensures appropriate use of college brand identity on all print publicity initiatives, consistent with University guidelines.
+ Conducts periodic assessments of the effectiveness of the branding approach and updates as necessary.
+ Reviews new and existing materials to ensure compliance with college's visual identity system.
+ Directs the planning and execution of photography shoots, selects photographers, and oversees an electronic archive for all digital assets for photography and print materials.
+ Develops strategic (long range) and operational (current year) plans for print publicity and advertising with college marketing staff and directors.
+ Meets with campus administrators and faculty about their publicity and printing needs.
+ Supervises direct reports and ensures that appropriate personnel have necessary skills to fulfill required goals, evaluating their work and performance as appropriate.
+ Researches, selects and acquires equipment and software, keeping current with industry standards and innovations.
+ Oversees the record keeping pertaining to departmental processes and procedures, tracks departmental work flow from initiation to completion, and monitors sequential sign-offs on all work.
+ Develops proposed Creative Services budget to effectively interface with vendors, prepares specifications, and reviews estimates and printer's proofs.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ·
+ Experience leading a team of full-time and part-time employees.
+ Experience managing multiple projects and clients with competing priorities, from inception to completion.
+ Self-starter who is skillful at working on creative projects.
+ Budget management and advocacy abilities.
+ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Directs College communications and public relations efforts.
- Establishes goals consistent with the College mission and works collaboratively with senior management to develop short- and long-range plans to further College outreach
- Develops and maintains comprehensive press, public relations, and internal communications strategies
- Represents the College to a variety of external and community organizations, establishing good working relationships and two-way communications on areas of common interest
- Oversees College web site and other major communications vehicles, such as publications
- Plans, organizes, and implements special events including conferences, receptions, and informational programs
- Develops and implements campaigns to foster awareness of College activities and initiatives
- Researches and develops speeches and other critical communications by senior management
- Maintains media relationships and serves as spokesperson representing the College
- Identifies and leverages opportunities to promote the visibility and reputation of the College.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
Salary range is $111,560 - $124,656, commensurate with education and experience.
