ResponsibilitiesAbout the job
As the Director of Data Science, AI/Machine Learning, you will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. Data Science and Software Engineering (SWE) teams work collaboratively across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design, etc. Operating with scale and speed, our exceptional team is just getting started -- and as a director, you guide the way.
Responsibilities
Lead a team to develop ML models, design evaluations, implement and run experiments, and work with product teams to incorporate these models into product features.Research, develop, apply, and launch AI and ML algorithms; focused on understanding structured and unstructured data, architecting cloud solutions, and deploying models to solve business problems.Contribute to product and project strategy, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering in data science based problems across products.Provide technical leadership in the areas of image recognition, Computer vision, ML and AI.Collaborate with stakeholders and partners in multiple areas of Ascension. Grow and develop a highly talented team and be an engaged manager who understands what individuals are working on, have credibility, and participate in technical discussions.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.7+ years of analytics and technical leadership experience, strongly preferred.Experience leading software engineering teams.Experience with cloud architecture and design.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.Experience motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.Experience as a statistical analyst and technical leader, influencing multiple teams of engineers and partnering on broad development initiatives.Technical experience and market knowledge, up-to-date on healthcare industry with historical context. Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, with an ability to thrive at the intersection of technology and business.Passion for and deep domain expertise in the areas of image recognition, Computer Vision, ML and AI.RequirementsEducation:
High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experiencerequired, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's
degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years
