General Position: Responsibility for executing resource and funding development strategies and maintain progress against revenue and income goals.
The Director of Development is responsible for working with the Board of Directors through the CEO and key staff to assure funds are generated and administered appropriately to guarantee the financial sustainability of the organization and accountability to funders.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Tasks and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:
Develops fundraising strategies and supervises the implementation of all activities related to the resource development plan.Conducts grant writing and guarantees that each grant submitted conforms to the needs and programmatic design of the organization and adheres to the guidelines established by the granting agency. To include facilitating the preparation of grant costs, including specific terms, conditions, and assumptions.Negotiates with funding sources, the final objectives of grants to be submitted.Leads the preparation, monitoring and delivery of correspondence related to grants, assuring that files are attended and maintained, and that they reflect the exact status and history of our compliance with each grant. Prepares and monitors the organizations compliance with the policies and practices of government approved grants.Reviews, updates, and implements the resource development plan to identify new sources of funding and to create opportunities for the club to develop a broader base of support.Interacts with CEO, the board, and appropriate committees in and identifying new prospects for making annual gifts, major gifts, and planned gifts.Evaluates the results of all resource development initiatives, including, but not limited to, campaigns, events, grant proposals, and other resource development programs, and recommends modifications or new strategies to proactively support the achievement of development and fundraising goals.Collaborates with the Executive Team and the Board of Directors in establishing their role in making gift solicitations, based on the interests of the donor, personal relationships, programmatic knowledge, and other criteria.Ensures that all of those assisting with cultivation or solicitations have the necessary training and tools to improve success.Revise government proposals to be able to analyze risk management, solutions, and mitigation, and is familiar with the laws and regulations applicable to government proposals, Federal, State, and local.Assist and Lead special projects and special fundraising events as required.Create and administer a donor stewardship program.Collaborate with club staff to maintain and optimize donor databaseRequirements
Has the ability to analyze problems, plan strategies and direct projects.Has the ability to manage problems that involve multiple variables and situations.Has the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and validate conclusions.Has the ability to read financial reports and legal documents. Has the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and portions in practical situationsExcellent verbal and written skills that allow him or her to express themselves with clarity and certainty with internal and external constituents, and at any level.Knowledge and experience in writing reports, private and/or public (Government) Grants, and follow up reports.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
Bachelors Degree in business administration, related fields and or equivalent experience. Five years of ample experience in managing solid relationships with donors, grantors and board volunteers with evidence, knowledge in how to work with funding agencies, volunteers, prospects, and donors. Included., but not limited to:
Administering the terms and conditions of grant proposals.Ability to conduct prospective research and determine best solicitation strategyAbility to work with and motivate the board and the other community volunteers to participate in and support the development initiatives of the organization.Clear understanding of the resource development process and the importance of cultivation and stewardship.Ability to initiate, foster and maintain relationships with prospects, donors, board members, and fellow staff members.Ability to work closely with organizations event planning consultants.Ability to work closely with Clubs, marketing manager and marketing consultants.
