Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to support forecasted needs for high volume items used by KNX shops. Execute and maintain KNX shop procurement strategy for parts and tires. Ensure business strategy aligns with KNX initiatives and objectives. Maximize bottom line results through increased efficiency and generation of profitability. Incumbent reports to executive leaders in multiple brands.
Oversee all activities tied to procurement of shop parts and tires under the KNX umbrella.Establish best practice relative to supplier contract management to drive continual improvement in supplier service levels, quality and cost.Initiate RFP and/or RFQ's based on assessment of suppliers abilities to meet KNX needs nationwide.Develop vendor relationships that ensure favorable pricing for high volume items.Provide oversight of strategy development and operational leadership for equipment utilization and optimization functions.Establish and oversee adherence to KNX policies concerning component standards and national purchasing agreements.Proactively manage parts supply as well as the purchase process of new tractor/trailer equipment to meet the demand and needs of the fleet while ensuring the objectives and equipment ratios established by Executive Leadership are followed.Collaborate with department leaders to incorporate sound business strategy and operations policy/procedures in order to appropriately align KNX objectives with overall productivity and performance.Negotiate strategy development and deployment of shop procurement related tactics to achieve desirable economic terms favoring KNX over duration of supplier agreements.Engage in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for KNX supplier community to facilitate productive relationships with supplier representatives and business owners.Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objective.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
8+ years progressive growth in procurement, vendor management and contract negotiations required.Previous experience in transportation industry sourcing parts for trucks and or trailers required.Previous experience with managing nationwide vendors required.Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.Professional certification (CPM or APICS) preferred.Must possess an understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectives.Must possess ability to influence others and successfully build consensus for key initiatives.Must possess exceptional negotiation and decision-making abilities.Must be able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines concurrently.Must be familiar with all aspects of contract life cycle management.Must be highly proficient in contract language and administration.
