Summary of Job Duties:The Director of the Educational and Student Success Center provides direct support to the UAMS Strategic Plan to develop the talent-rich community of educators across all five colleges, the graduate school, and the Division of Academic Affairs. This full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position reports to the Associate Provost for Academics with academic appointment within the Division of Academic Affairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of education at UAMS by providing strategic leadership and supporting the professional growth of faculty and students.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

A Graduate degree (masters) in education, adult education, health sciences, public health, or health-related social sciences, Terminal Degree preferred (e.g. M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D., or Ed.D) plus five (5) years of teaching experience in a discipline working with diverse faculty. 

Demonstrated success in educational administration and leadership.

Preference is given to candidates with experience in educational pedagogy, active learning strategies, academic health education and clinical teaching. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Excellent verbal and written communication. 

Superb collaboration skills, incorporating effective group processes to achieve desired programmatic goals. 

Ability to work well independently, as part of a team and as the leader of the team. 

Experience in grant writing, program development, project management, and meeting management. 


Additional Information:

Responsibilities 

Provide leadership and oversight for the Educational and Student Success Center, including the Writing Center, Student Learning Services, Educator’s Academy, and e-Learning teams, ensuring alignment with UAMS's academic goals. 

Oversee the development and delivery of educational programs, academic coaching, writing assistance, peer tutoring, and faculty development workshops to enhance teaching skills, course design, and eLearning. 

Manage the annual Educational Grants Awards and review processes, and provide direct consultation and mentoring to faculty on teaching, assessment, and educational scholarship. 

Chair the Academic Affairs Educational and Student Success Center Advisory Committee and promote innovation in both didactic and clinical education. 

Support the goals of Vision 2029 by fostering faculty development, curricular innovation, and interprofessional collaboration in teaching and educational research. 

Other duties as assigned.
