**Job Title: Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)**
**Job Summary:**
The Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) provides strategic oversight and leadership for company-wide EHS and Risk Management programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and drives continuous improvement in safety, environmental stewardship, and risk mitigation efforts. This position plays a critical role in aligning EHS programs with the company’s Quality & Environmental Management System (QEMS) framework, which governs company policies and operations.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ **Risk Management:**
+ Partner with the CFO and Controller to manage risk, loss control, and insurance programs, covering areas such as workers' compensation, liability, property, product safety, IT systems, and catastrophic events.
+ **Environmental Management:**
+ Oversee the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to manage product regulatory compliance, including labeling and safety data sheet requirements.
+ **Regulatory Compliance:**
+ Ensure adherence to DOT/IATA shipping requirements.
+ Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and ensure all required permits and reports are prepared and submitted on time.
+ Analyze and respond to the impact of EHS and risk management regulations.
+ **Safety Programs:**
+ Lead the development and implementation of safety policies and training programs to meet OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
+ Serve as the point of contact for safety-related incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
+ **Emergency Preparedness:**
+ Co-lead the company’s Business Continuity Plan and oversee emergency response protocols.
+ **Incident Management:**
+ Drive the investigation and resolution of accidents and incidents, mentoring employees on best practices and corrective measures.
+ **Leadership and Communication:**
+ Advise senior leadership on EHS and risk management strategies and provide regular updates.
+ Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
+ **Budget and Vendor Oversight:**
+ Plan and manage the EHS department budget, set goals aligned with corporate objectives, and oversee external vendors or consultants.
+ **Other Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain stop-work authority for hazardous or environmentally impactful situations, including contractor activities.
+ Advocate for ADA accommodations and collaborate with People Operations on workplace safety and security.
+ Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:**
+ Proven expertise in EHS compliance and industry standards, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, REACH, and ISO 14001.
+ Extensive experience in safety engineering/science within manufacturing or aerospace industries.
+ Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
+ Familiarity with risk management practices, including insurance, workers' compensation, and loss control strategies.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; CAD knowledge is a plus.
+ Fluency in written and spoken English. **Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering, Science, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within manufacturing or aerospace environments.
+ ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification and experience managing both internal and external audits are preferred.Salary is $130k$150k plus full benefit package including health, life, vision and dental insurance with matching 401K.
