POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our Solutions Consultant Pre-Sales team. This individual will oversee all aspects of solution design and development, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, mission centric and high-quality hardware solutions. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep technical expertise and a proven ability to align with the mission of the client and drive innovation in the hardware domain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strategic Leadership:
• Define the Pre-Sales strategy aligned with client mission and long-term goals
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
• Develop team capabilities and support long term professional growth.
• Excellent at delegating tasks, setting project goals and deliverables, managing timelines, and overseeing the entire engineering team’s progress.
• Process Optimization:
• Responsible for the design and development of information technology solutions.
• Works closely with the sales team to identify external clients’ needs and business requirements.
• Translates such specifications into possible technological solutions.
• Outlines project objectives, technical requirements, schedules, deliverables, and cost estimates.
• Participate in successful transition from pre-sale to post sales and optimize the process where possible
• Keeps abreast of technological developments and applications to initiate enhanced solutions across Hitachi solution portfolios
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with sales teams and product management to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
• Champion federal requirements for inclusion into Hitachi Vantara product portfolio, working with Hitachi product management.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers and key stakeholders.
• Works in conjunction with the client and the development team to arrive at the recommended solution and provides direct support in meetings and presentations.
• Presents recommended solution to client for validation and improvements.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in hardware engineering, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the Federal Marketplace working for an OEM a plus.
• Proven track record of leading successful hardware sales and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and how they interface and interact with our solutions and client missions.
• Experience working in fast paced and agile environment
• Curiosity for the business and the desire to grow with an organization.
• Creativity in solutioning and solving issues
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
