Job Title: Director of Engineering

Job Description

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, including 2 direct reports and 15 indirect reports, with management responsibilities in Madison and Dublin, Ireland. This role involves overseeing sustaining and manufacturing engineering activities related to a medical device, driving engineering innovation, product performance, and ensuring product quality and compliance.

ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee a team of engineering professionals, including 2 direct reports and 15 indirect reports.Supervise engineering operations in both Madison, WI and Dublin, Ireland.Oversee sustaining and manufacturing engineering activities related to the medical device.Drive engineering innovation and product performance.Ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards.Support new product development and introduction processes.Collaborate with global teams and departments to achieve engineering goals.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.15+ years of engineering management experience.15+ years of experience in new product introduction or taking a product from concept to completion.15+ years of experience working in the medical device industry.Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 standards.Proficiency in project management.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, and manufacturing engineering.Proven track record as an engineering manager or director of engineering.Work Environment

The role will be based in Madison, WI. The local office focuses on creating a medical device used in the NICU for babies with lung issues. The position offers an opportunity to work globally with different teams and departments, along with a 20% bonus opportunity.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $190000.00 - $215000.00

Mallinckrodt offers a full benefits package including health, dental, and vision. This role will also be eligible for a 20% bonus. Relocation is an option for a non-local candidate too.
