Partner with product management and delivery teams to align and prioritize current and future new product development initiatives in support of our business objectives. Manage cross functional engineering teams. Develop a practical and working knowledge of business processes; interact with key business partners to recommend solutions that best meet the strategic needs of the business. Evaluate current state solutions to identify areas to improve standards, simplify, and enhance functionality and/or transition to effective solutions to improve supportability and time to market. Develop and apply consistent, standardized development processes that are regularly updated through lessons learned from previous projects. Develop software development strategy utilizing industry standards. Create roadmap and timing of implementation of the roadmap based on business requirements and strategy. Motivate, lead and develop a team of thirteen (13) Software Developers and related professionals, with a variety of experience levels and skill sets. Manage software project planning and allocation of resources. Education: Bachelor – Computer Science/Engineering or a related field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree. Experience: Six (6) years in the position above, as a Software Engineer, Software Development Manager, or in a related software engineering role. Experience must include each of the following: 1. At least five (5) years working with either React or Angular, front-end, JavaScript frameworks. 2. At least five (5) years implementing unit, integration, and system testing to improve code quality and coverage. 3. At least four (4) years in an engineering management capacity, leading developers, analysts, and other associated roles. 4. At least three (3) years developing web applications using Python and RESTful APIs. 5. At least three (3) years developing and implementing new policies and procedures for software development teams. 6. Using Agile principles for software development. 7. Using SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency. 8. Using Git for version control.
