The Director of Engineering - Business Growth Technology Solutions will collaborate with business leadership to drive technology around Workplace Benefits (Retirement Plans) to support growth-oriented, multi-year strategies. In this role, you will bring visionary leadership and executive influence to craft IT solutions to help grow the business. Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by providing expert guidance and inspiring our team to optimize our product offerings and execute growth initiatives.

Bring your deep understanding of technical approaches (software development, Cloud, and AI initiatives) to creatively assemble solutions that solve complex business problems and promote growth. Showcase your ability to oversee and enhance the operational working relationship with third-party software development partners, while delivering on time and within budget. This is a thought leadership position that will deliver contemporary IT products and services transformative in nature, to propel business growth, while aligning to the overall IT and corporate strategy.

 ** Ability to respond to on-call / escalation matters across all global time zones is a requirement of the role.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Information Technology or related field is required.Experience: Requires 7+ years of progressive experience from hands-on application development to leading an application/solution delivery team. 3 years leading/managing the outsourcing of business-critical technology functions. Experience across a broad range of IT facets, including AppDev, is required. Experience with product and service growth initiatives in financial services or insurance industry is highly preferred, specifically in Workplace Benefits (Retirement Plans and Individual Annuities.)Travel: 3-4 international site visits annually with vendor partners and occasional domestic travel.Time zones: Ability to respond to on-call / escalation matters across all global time zones is a requirement of the role.Broad knowledge of IT including application hosting and cloud services is required. Experience delivering contemporary IT solutions, via agile methodology. Experience supporting Retirement Plans/Individual Annuities is strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience developing strong, consultative, business relationships. Experienced in stakeholder relationship management. Ability to enhance the operational working relationship with third-party partners. Ability to partner with other areas of IT in the overall delivery of services.Developing Statements of Work for business outcomes across multiple partner organizations. Experience with financial management; budget and variance forecasting. Experience overseeing risk and compliance activities in assurance of partner team execution against company policies, standards, and processes is required. Achieving delivery commitments and quality through our strategic partners / direct reporting staff.Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties. Critical thinking and ability to adjust to conditions as they arise.Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external partners; effective at negotiation and ability to influence; courage and skill to have difficult conversations.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$116,000.00 - $220,500.00
